Now before i continue with the article i just want to point out, its something i read and wanted the opinions of red supporters were, as far as i was aware Kenny had knocked all this out of him by taking him to the theatre and by way of his obviously great man management style. Now i know Carroll has had an underwhelming start to his Anfield career and the price tag may be hanging over his head but what do you guys thin of Capello's rant? --------------- ANDY CARROLL has been ordered for a second time to cut out his boozing. England coach Fabio Capello repeated his warning after Carroll failed to make the qualifier in Bulgaria. The £35m Liverpool striker has struggled to find his best form this season and was relegated to sub for his side’s last game against Bolton. The Italian has gone on record as admitting he is worried about Carroll’s drinking habits. He has previously said: “We have to help him and I hope he wants to im- prove in his private life. “He is young and needs to improve and drink less.” ------------------------- Now with that said im not a big fan of Capello but his ideas of discipline are second to non, are his comments out of place or are they welcomed if its affecting his career? ------------------------- OFF TOPIC: Anyone use the not606 app for android is it any good? have the xperia arc just wondering if its a decent app?
Capello should stop ordering Carroll to do things and perhaps he'll stop drinking. I know if he told me to stop drinking I'd get pissed every night and set fire to his car.
The article was in the Daily Mail and is so similar to the previous one that I think it's a rehash and wouldn't be surprised if Capello had not said anything. If he has made these comments then I hope the club do something about it. He is our player and any lifestyle problems will be dealt with internally and don't need to be in the sport sections of any papers. Capello is an idiot and has no idea on how to control the media. Carroll is a good player and he will improve, he has not started brilliantly this season but we have the squad depth to cover for a player being off form.
luvgonzo i read it in the star this morning i dont know if they are affiliated to each other though but it saidf he ws interviewed after the game and asked why he did not feature and that it what he said but you know newspapers lol
If he wants any lessons on effective drinking, I charge a very reasoanble hourly rate...... .....6 pints and 3 sambucas an hour.
Meh, I wont start worrying until it affects his performance on the pitch. The trouble with the media is, is that they hate it when England are actually doing well and they need to pick at something or someone, this time it's Carroll
it'll all be grand util it causes him to miss a penalty against MU or something, then he'll be slaughtered on here. Footballers in general cannot be heavy drinkers and good players, even the very talented Best couldn't keep the two seperated, couldn't prevent one affecting the other and he was probably the most gifted player with a ball at his feet, so Carroll should watch his intake, he should talk to Merson or Gascoigne if he wants to know what the downsides are.
well if you listened to capello you'd kno the guy has successfully alienated every english goalkeeper going bar hart. so..... who really cares if he's commenting on carroll as we all fully realise this guy doesn't give a damn about england (and neither do you in this article) Capello only has eyes for rooney and the euros... and lettuce only wants to wum
moreinjuredthanowen i dont want to wum look at my history, i dont really care for england no its always the same big name players get picked we fail, capello seems to be changing that this time round though after the disasterous world cup, players on form getting in the side, im a german fan when it comes to internationals. but if someone as well respected in the game as capello on the discipline side of the game has concerns does it not concern you? he is only looking out for the lad or would you rather no one says anything and his liver packs in and a massive £35 million gets flushed down the drain? just a thought, wheres the wum in that?
Skylarker, ever since i saw Thomas Hassler in the late 80s, i was born 84, so at that age the magic of world cups euros etc and just their general play and ethic towards the game. They are my second love after Everton.
Skylarker no im english wasnt born here though my parents were in the arab world when i was born but they are both from liverpool and quickly moved back, im wierd like that i think ha but i was a kid their football made me smile and ive stuck with the ever since and yes i predicted germany to beat england in the knockouts before a ball had been kicked, it won me the office world cup game everyone had england to win the group i had other ideas.
Did Capello actually mention the drinking this time around? However, surely the decent thing to do in these situations is to deal with it internally. No class in the England setup yet again.
Has Carroll actually really done anything at 'Pool yet? As much as some of you are obviously keen to have a pop at Capello, I think you should aim at putting your own house in order, first. I see absolutely nothing wrong in Capello voicing his concerns over one of his players. Personally, I think he's simply laying the ground for his reasons on leaving Carroll out of his set-up. Carroll was always only ever going to be "plan B" for England, much as Crouch was. Despite the comparisons previously made with Shearer, Carroll has shown absolutely no proof that he'll be anything near as good as Shearer was. I think you should all give credit to Capello for calling it exactly how it is
Fair enough, he needs to perform for club before country. I was simply highlighting that the reason behind his decision had nothing to do with alcohol.
