The key to the success of the selling model was entirely down to the recruitment of replacement players. Getting in Pellè, Tadic, Mané, Virgil, and so on to replace some of the players that left actually improved our league position but we couldn’t continue that process. Whether it was down to the black box going wrong, Paul Mitchell leaving in 2014, or some other unknown factor, something went wrong with our recruitment process following the 2015-16 season and we haven’t recovered from it. I don’t think I’m being too harsh in saying that we have bought more duffers than champions since then.
Also can be down to how well you do with your new team mates. The new players we have are not complete duffers....I'm sure that they would have performed differently if added to our side when it was flourishing. You have to have the talent to start with...but there is a world of difference between playing in a confident, winning side and joining a whole team still feeling its way where confidence is rock bottom.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/peter-crouch-reveals-one-player-13630989 Peter Crouch says the one player you want to avoid on a night out is a goalkeeper....says they get aggressive when they have a few drinks.

Kicked of pre match to, petrol bombs and flares being launched everywhere , riot police the lot. If you wana have a scrap then crack on ,each to their own, but throwing petrol bombs is beyond cowardly .
Who decided they were going to belt the hell out of the Ajax fans. Very indiscriminate, not!! I think Dutch fans are better known for their humour and color rather than resorting to violence, so I have full sympathy with any Ajax fan injured there tonight as a result of the mayhem caused AEK fans and their thuggish pólice. A 5 year ban from European competition for AEK is meritworthy.
I don´t think it is any worse that in the UK. I do not believe Ajax fans went to Athens to engage in a riot with AEK ultras.
I'm not saying they did but you're almost certainly wrong in your first sentence as is the case with mostof Europe.
Ajax have always had the hump as rivals constantly take the piss out of them for their Jewish roots. The worst in Holland have always been Feyenoord though , the legion I think they’re called if memory serves right.
Probably, I’ve always fancied going to Amsterdam for the weekend and catching an Ajax v Feyenoord game, just never got round to it. Not that I’d be trusted or allowed these days .
Doubts about Arsenal game on Thursday going ahead after declaration of martial law in that part of the Ukraine after the Russians seized some Ukraine ships. They want the game moved to Kiev, but massive logistics problems for the fans....not only in the wrong town, but possessing tickets for the wrong stadium.
