http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/squad-update-020911.html Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, the Club has today submitted its list of 25 players that will be eligible to play in the Premier League from now until January 1. All players under the age of 21 as of January, 2011 are also eligible to play. The squad list, in alphabetical order, is as follows: 1. Emmanuel Adebayor 2. Ben Alnwick 3. Benoit Assou-Ekotto 4. Gareth Bale 5. Sebastien Bassong 6. Sandro 7. Vedran Corluka 8. Carlo Cudicini 9. Heurelho Gomes 10. Michael Dawson 11. Jermain Defoe 12. Giovani Dos Santos 13. Brad Friedel 14. William Gallas 15. Tom Huddlestone 16. Younes Kaboul 17. Ledley King 18. Niko Kranjcar 19. Aaron Lennon 20. Jake Livermore 21. Luka Modric 22. Scott Parker 23. Roman Pavlyuchenko 24. Steven Pienaar 25. Rafael van der Vaart
4 goalkeepers is a bit much isn't it. I know Bassong was going to be sold if we got Cahill but the squad still looks 1 player short. That said everyone we got rid of needed to go.
Shouldn't have given Adebayor number 1, I hope we're not planning on playing him in goal Does this make Gomes a false number 9? <run>
I think the rules say that you have to register all of your contracted players over 21 (unless there are more than 25 in which case you are limited to 25). So if Alnwick is on the books he has to be registered as there is no-one else over 21 I think
How many of these players are actually fit might be the most concerning thing of all(atleast 5 are not). Then ofcourse there is the Modders situation(how will he perform).
By Position: Ben Alnwick Carlo Cudicini Heurelho Gomes Brad Friedel William Gallas Younes Kaboul Ledley King Benoit Assou-Ekotto Sebastien Bassong Vedran Corluka Michael Dawson Tom Huddlestone Niko Kranjcar Aaron Lennon Jake Livermore Luka Modric Sandro Scott Parker Gareth Bale Steven Pienaar Rafael van der Vaart Roman Pavlyuchenko Emmanuel Adebayor Jermain Defoe Giovani Dos Santos
To be fair we also have Walker, Falque, Rose, Townsend and Kane that don't have to be listed in the squad.
Anyone know who is in our Europa Cup squad now? I assume we are allowed to change it after the qualifying round. We'd better be because we've sold quite a lot of it. It appears that Couilbaly, Ceballos and Falque would have to be named as part of the A squad as the rules are different from the Premier league. Rose doesn't have a star against his name in the current squad on the UEFA site but he seems to be qualified for the B list to me.
That's 30 players: when I first went to see Spurs in the late 60s you could go all season and not see more than about 16.
That's the price of professional sports, when you spend all day training you're bound to put your body under more strain. The pros in the 60s spent half their time in the pub.
i did'nt realise that Frank saul was at tottenham then, how old was he in '67 when he scored against the chav's at Wembly ?.
Alnwick and Woodgate were both left out last season. As for comments of being one player short, I think we can all name that player - and the Brazilian club that're playing silly buggers with the transfer fee...
