He did stay on his feet until the Walsall player crashed into him. Referees are paid to make decisions, this one was obviously wrong.
He runs in at full pelt and starts a slide but gets clattered as he gets going, without that happening it's a full on slide tackle that would have followed through. This is all for a 50/50 near to the centre circle where typically players with a brain don't dive in like that.
Point is it would have been if it hadn't been blocked (by the other guy sliding in and getting away with it completely), I've been watched the replay and it's an out of control lunge at full speed because he lost control of the ball. The more I see it the more surprised I am that it got rescinded. However you want to describe it that's not what a player in full control of themselves and standing upright looks like. I've just watched it before replying and it's nothing of the sort. Ross, the Walsall manager and the appeal panel agree with me and many others who were there. The Walsall player was studs up, both feet off the ground and out of control.
Disagree completely, I think the only way he's got away with it is because the Walsall player slid in slightly before him, if he had stayed on his feet then Power would have crippled him. As it happens there wasn't much of a foul from Power but I think he got lucky because the intent was there. The red mist is clear to see from his second red.
I honestly think you must be watching something else mate.. The Walsall player went in with both feet off the ground with his studs up. It was only luck that he didn't snap Power's leg.
I'm not saying the Walsall players challenge wasn't worse because it was but what I'm seeing from Power is him losing control of the ball then making an out of control and mistimed attempt to get it back. Whether you think it's the first stage of a slide tackle or not doesn't really matter but I don't know what you're looking at if you don't see what I'm describing.
Not just wrong, but probably cost us the win. It was one of the most one sided games until their players play acting (which, I guess, won’t be revisited by the FA) got our man sent off.
He got to the ball before Power. The ball had been played away when Power went into him. Having said that, I changed my mind having watched the replay back and I think they both deserved a yellow.
only takes a millisecond! He was literally hundredths of a second late but he also missed the Walsall player who, regardless of getting the ball, was out of control with both feet off the ground. I remember we played QPR when Cisse played for us and a QPR player won the ball in a similar manner. Got a straight red card for dangerous play!!
The Walsall player had two feet off the ground, however, his studs were never up. He won the ball cleanly and played it away. Yellow card. Power was late to the party and went into the Walsall player after the ball had been played away. Yellow card. Even if he didn't go into the Walsall player, it looked reckless by him. That's how I see it, mate.
Aye probably right but certainly not a red. Still think the Walsall player is out of control. You can’t jump into a challenge like that and be in control.
Great news, But i expect the referee will be out there this week -end, as thoiugh nothing has happened, The sooner VAR is introduced to all pro leagues the better then idiotic decisions will hopefully be a thing of the past.
