I just think techncially its weak in middle. For it to really work we have to be creating more. We kicked a huge amount of possession away v watford...
We need better than Henderson and wini to be honest, we need at least one more in the midfield who is comfortable recieving the ball in tight areas and turning, rather than just passing it backwards. At the minute if you press our midfield, in fact you don't even need to press them, just stand Infront of them they are completely nullified. They don't move enough, and if they do revrece a pass, the slightest pressure and it's right back to the defence. I think it's why Bobby started to drop deep, see if he could receive the ball and get the play turned.
think you are right there. tbh maybe you are right. gomez is more like varane. there's no mouthy scally to tries to break legs in our back line.... just one who fancies pregnant ladies
Trent got done for sending lude pics to a girl who was flirting with him and it turned out she was 7months up the duff
Once upon a time, I woke up next to girl who was pregnant, didn't remember a ****ing thing, but still panicked and asked if it was mine, she must of been ready to pop. The joy of beer.
Klopp on Roberto Firmino's change of position Jürgen Klopp praised Roberto Firmino for the way the Liverpool No.9 has adopted a different position in recent weeks, after he returned to the scoresheet at Watford. Mohamed Salah has typically been the most advanced Reds forward this season, with Brazil international Firmino dropping back into a central role behind his teammate. He had a hand in all three of Liverpool’s goals in the Premier League victory at Vicarage Road on Saturday, sealing the three points via an 89th-minute header - his fifth strike of the campaign. And, after the game, Klopp reinforced his appreciation for a player he considers invaluable. The manager said: “He will never come to me because people are saying something is missing and ask: ‘Boss, can I play in my old position again?’ “He is doing the job. That makes him so unbelievably valuable for us. I’m really happy with him. “Yes, we had a long season last season and he had a World Cup, then he had bits here and there. But it’s not about position. It’s about what you have to do in the right moments. “We need to find a system where we can bring our quality on the pitch and against Watford it worked out.” Average position Expanding on his point, Klopp explained how Firmino’s all-round contribution to the Liverpool team should not go without credit regardless of how often he scores. “It all depends what you want to see, what you expect and what you compare it with,” added the boss. “In the last home game against Fulham, I had 20 German coaches in the stadium. Most of them were friends of mine, and I know them all. “They watched the game. I’m not sure what the critics were saying about Bobby Firmino after the game, but when I saw the coaches later and we had drinks together, they were like ‘Bobby Firmino... what a player!’ “It’s because of the small things he is doing, he is working hard, he is here, he is there, he has five goals now and he opens 5,000 gaps for everybody. It’s about how you see it.” https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/326923-jurgen-klopp-roberto-firmino-position
I like this kind of comment. I wish he would say what those german coaches were saying about the midfielders 3231 with no number 9 doesn't work for firmino or for anyone. Firmino when he's getting the position he's making things happen. Firmino played a good ball to mane this weekend and mane played it to salah and foster ****ed up a simple save.. .goal... firmino did the job. But its all too rare. he's not getting the space or right type of ball to play off. he's also not getting the support in the press. Hopefully we can sort this out with some work but i think we will be waiting a while for keita. I am really hoping for a BOOM moment at some point from the lad and it all kicks off but he's got to be fit first.
This is an important point. The press has to be triggered by one player and he was the one - in his deeper role he's not in a position to do it, so it's not happening as smoothly as it did. It's great that Klopp appreciates Firmino wherever he plays, but I think the deeper role is shackling some of his best qualities and I don't understand it tbh.
i just think klopp is hunting after some solution to midfield. he's lost coutinho and not oxlade and Milner can't keep running. imo klopp has 3.no 6 now and one no 8 in Milner as Keita is not fit. he's trying to accommodate shaqiri.for a bit of technical ability. hes just searching and searching so hopefully he finds it.
If he's going to stick with 4231 then leave the front three be and put Shaqiri behind. I'd prefer to revert back to 433 though
That's what I meant in post #335. It's more or less back to the diamond shape we've used before - it keeps Bobby in what is by far his most effective position and gives Mané and Salah the opportunity to start off wide and move in at the right moment.
It’s not a surprise that Klopp is looking to revert back to the 4231 who has used throughout his career. He now seems to have a lot of the players suited to the system. This begs the question - will he go big on a new CF, in the mould of a Lewandowski, or persist with Salah?
