Both players should have been carded. Theirs for feet off the ground (he’s not studs up) which probably allows him to get to the ball much quicker. Power should have been carded for being late, but It’s not a red.

Their players are a disgrace pushing /conning the ref for it, But players should not be putting us in those situations with daft challenges. The oppo are clearly primed to play dirty and con/pressurise refs to their advantage. Which is easily done when the standard of reffing is woeful.

Power needs to wisen the **** up, as the standard of reffing isn’t going to improve any time soon

There is no way the referee saw the play. Honeyman was exactly in the referees line of sight when the contact occurred. The FA should ask Honeyman if it was a red!

I don't buy that refs have it in for Power, I highly doubt that they really give a **** who he is, and I also don't buy it that it's because they have it in for Sunderland because if that was the case why is it just Power getting sent off?

No, it's all happening as a result of Power's poor decision making and he's had three chances now to get it right and failed them all. He'll just get another red a few games after returning from his suspension and leave us in the **** for a fourth time.

Agree with this mostly. Both should have been booked.

I actually though MP's was a bit worse so if one was going to get red it was him but the last line is key. He needs to accept that if he jumps in like that he'll regularly get sent off. No point complaining about it, learn and move on.

Agreed. It is a perception issue but with fans rather then referees I'd say. We have it with Shelvey, fans go on about how refs have it in for him and opposition fans who barely see him go on about him being dirty all the time. He got sent off first game last season (rightly so) 5 minutes after Harry Kane had intentionally trodden on one of our players and the months later fans were saying he couldn't go to the world cup as he was a hot-headed liability. Last season he got one red card and two yellows. Referees didn't have it in for him, fan perception did. Perception >> facts

Dirty players/ teams? "Plucky" Huddersfield were horrific at times last season but that may just be my perception to be fair.

Wrong player was sent off. Their player wenting studs up both feet off the floor. Ref view completely blocked by Honeyman. Disgraceful decision. Power been getting abuse by knuckledraggers on twitter and the poor lad did nothing wrong.

I remember over the summer, someone posted an interview on here with Stewart Donald. At that time, most of the transfer business was already completed. Donald did indicate that we still needed to address the size issue. Shortly thereafter, Power and ONien were signed. We need them both, w/o them we are pretty small.

Can't believe the FA have actually come out on our side, great news indeed he just needs to be a bit more clever when tackling in future.

Good news and not a little bit surprising, not because of the challenge but they normally stick to their guns don't they.

Hopefully now he's finally learned his lesson and will stay on his feet and not give referees a decision to make.

Good: (a) we get him back & (b) it shows what a twat that referee was. Easily the worst performance I have ever seen, bar none...

Rescinded as I said it would be .... the Walsall player came in 'studs up', both feet off the ground and out of control.

Power went for the ball and wouldn't have been near the player if he hadn't come flying in.

As a midfield player he had every right to challenge for the ball and didn't go to ground.

I've just watched it through again, five times, and if you watch Power only he quite obviously goes for the ball not the man. The Walsall player knocks the ball away and his momentum carries him into Power's path, Power didnt 'dive in' at all. This is obviously what the appeal panel concluded.

He was rightly sent off at Bradford but not this time, ludicrous to give him a red.
