Yeh it’s called learning his trade. He will have difficult times as well as scoring regularly as he is. He’s very young and all we can expect is the good and his bad He will get there in the end
There's a difference between learning your trade and not putting yourself about. He is supposed to be a key player for us, but there's times when you look for him and he's simply not there. He's lethal in the box and a threat with only half-chances, but if he's not getting the ball laid off to him he hangs around waiting for things to happen. He should be running around creating options for teammates and pulling defenders wide, but he looks like Gyan dreaming of an arab payday sometimes...
But that will come with time If he did all them things he would be the finished artical and he’s no where near that
At 19, Sid? I think that's a problem right there because that's an awful lot of pressure on a teenager who is playing his first full season in professional football. He's so inexperienced that understanding the game and his positional sense will all come with time. He's a long way from the finished article yet, but if he keeps banging them in, that's all we can ask.
I'm not asking him to get us promoted, though! I only want him to run around a bit when he hasn't got the ball! And George Best was turning out for Man Utd at 17, although I'm obviously not comparing him to JM.
