    Always turkey at Christmas, we have the crown and as mentioned previously basting it regularly keeps the juices in. Full Grove Christmas list as follows;

    Turkey
    Maple glazed gammon
    Pigs in blankets
    Sausage stuffing balls
    Roast spuds
    Roast parsnips
    Roast carrots
    Broccoli
    Peas
    Sweetcorn
Yorkshire puddings (f.ucking travesty but the kids like them)
    Gravy

I go even more overboard at New Year when the outlaws turn up, all of the above but substitute turkey for beef and I do a roast ham too and chuck in something different like red cabbage or cauliflower au gratin. Have sometimes done Duchess potatoes too but only when the par-boiled spuds for the roasties have been in too long and have turned to mash!

Nobody in the family likes Christmas pudding so we usually do my own superb mince pies with ice cream or custard.

    I. Love. Christmas. Me.

Forgive my Nigelness but what is a piece?

Brown sauce for everything apart from fish & chips or fish finger sandwiches for this condiment connoisseur. Can't beat HP on a sausage sandwich or with a pie.

Square sausage on the whitest of white bread (preferably 'plain' bread outsiders )

Sausage sandwich for Christmas dinner? Aldo may be onto something there.

Had the old Scottish square sausage and liked it. Prefer normal but at a push the square does just as well.

Also like white pudding (ooer, Matron!) when doing the full Irish but it isn't as readily available as the more traditional black pudding. Irish butchers in Shepherd's Bush used to do it, may have to sort out a trip back to W12 soon!
