I have both and I'd say defo go for the 360, maybe even go for an elite so you have no worries of getting the red ring again. The ps3 is as vulnerable to technical faults as the 360, I remember the ruckus about the "yellow light of death".
Not much between them IMO (but playing with the tiny PS3 controls is weird if you're used to xbox). XBox is cheaper but you have to pay for Live so it's similar in the long run.
You pay for it's worth though, much better online community on 360 imo. Hated PSN for the short time I was on it.
So the Xbox is better for online play? as Im mainly into multiplayer games such as COD, Fifa, Pro evo (not so much anymore) or racing games...The thing that annoyed me was having to pay for live but sounds like its better compared to PSN? The thing im scared of is another xbox breaking!! What does the elite xbox offer that the normal doesnt?
Quiter, HD, doesnt break, it's black , bigger hard drive. Loads of jazz like that. You pay extra for the long term when you think about it, it was created specifically to tackle technical problems in the original Xboxes.
I've got both, and basically what it boils down to is what you're after. If you want to play movies and such, get the ps3 but if its just gaming get the 360. You do have to pay for live, but you get your money's worth, its a far superior service to the psn.
What xbox did you have previously? The elite doesn't exist at retail any more, any benefits it offered were incorporated into the standard Xbox 360. There is also the Xbox 360 S, which is the black slimline one, which is quieter and should have better reliability.
HDMI has been included in all models for years, since the 'Arcade' and 60 GB models launched and replaced the 'Core' and 'Premium' (20GB) I believe. Just looked it up and turns out the non slimline 360s are deadstock now, the 360 S is the only model in production at the moment, and comes in 4GB/250GB/320GB (special editions for 320).
Yeah the newest 360 is the Xbox 360 Slim, or Elite-S as it's sometimes called. Just the Elite 360 is the old one that's basically the original 360 but black with bigger memory.
Oh okay thanks guys, think I must have had the old Core one. Might have to look into this Xbox 360 Slim... Has anyone got any experience with buying used ones? Probably go for a new one if a do but a newish used one may be a option..
Depends what your funds are like. I'd always go with a new one when buying things like this. Just in case, really.
I got the 250 GIG xbox for the long term and hope it's lasts the 2/3 years I expect it too. It lets you download your games to your hard drive with ease and it's basically silent then, which is a massive bonus. The exclusives depend on the gamer, but I feel Halo and Gears of Wars are better than Resistance and Uncharted (look them up if you don't know). Just been playing Fifa 11 for a couple of hours two nights in a row attempting to play clubs in the first time in ages. It's so ****ing easy Look at this record ffs. http://www.eafootballworld.com/en_GB/clubs/632A0001/1878986/overview
You'll still be playing against ****ty little clubs, and you better not be playing like cheap ****s (ie cut backs, glitches, exploits).
It's a game for god sake, why the **** would I cheat? We score some decent goals, but isn't finessing it into the bottom corner just as bad as passing it across the box? If we get the oppotunity to score the goal, we score it. Being 'cheap' means **** all to be honest, while 'cheating' or 'hacking' yourr pro means that you have an unfair advantage. '****ty little clubs'. It's not like we tell them to be ****
