And also tbf... I think the mental issue is being assessed in our players. Personally think there are 2 or so players that don't have a pl winning mentality but I think they'll be gone in the next two years or at least sidelined .

Ok on Benitez... do I think the rant mattered... at the time I did ...but now? No... I think he made a series of decisions that alienated his best players.. they stopped trusting him... it's the risk if you're the type of manger that is harsh... all the stories that came out since suggest that. That style only works ... when you win.

But... I think some of those players showed a mental weakness later after he had gone. So....

It's alarming the amount of times I'll argue like **** for two hours, then at the end it turns out we are arguing over two different points.

A wrong choice of phrase leads to hours of bollocks.

I think a few will be gone, including players we think are doing well.

Look at the season before last when people were spunking over Matip; he was just our best option at the timbre but people thought he was top quality as a result, he clearly wasn't in hindsight (I might have said as much at the timbre too :emoticon-0103-cool:).

There are probably some that will similarly fall away as we get better. Harder to spot as the tram improves though.

Regardless of whether or not it affected our results, I was a bit embarrassed by Rafa's "rant". Rafa is a tactician, and should have stuck to what he's good at - Fergie was a master of mind-games.

Both Gerrard and Carragher have said bits about Rafa being distant and machine like. Never showed emotion and built bonds with players.

The Rafa rant wasn't the only reason, I think it played into Ferguson and utds hands, gave an excuse to some of our weaker players and gave a boost to an already strong utd.

It showed the pressure was on for us, when really he could have done with taking it off.

Did we **** it because of Rafa, no, did it contribute yes definitely.

Matip would still walk into Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Everton's first team. Maybe even Spurs now that Vertonghen is finished.

I wouldn't pick him at Leicester, Huddersfield, Fulham, etc

Lovren is better than him ffs

It was embarrassing, I remember sitting in the pub and a group of mancs laughing their bollocks off, it was worse because it was so out of character.

Never seen the love in with matip. I've said before, lovren got caught out and was making last ditch tackles last season which made him look ****e, but at least he was there, matip was always out of picture jogging back.

Loads on here constantly had Matip in their first eleven, even after VVD arrived. Surely you remember me constantly pointing out that it would be Lovren in his place. Jimmy and Gonzo loved it ;)

Gomez is twice the player Lovren and Matip are combined.

I actually can't make my mind up who I like more out of Gomez and VVD. Great isn't it?

I see Fernandinho avoided another yellow today for city despite taking out a player as r broke on the city defence... just cause ref played advantage.

Seriously wonder what what it will take for him to actually get booked

I ****ing love Joe, he always got a special mention when I gave my thoughts on the match.

I don't think he would be where he is with out Virgil stood next to him, but I have never seen such a rapid improvement.

I do remember you putting lovren in, I'll be honest I don't mind him, yes he has a calamity in him, but he can also win you a game on his day. Matip on the other hand is just meh, nothing to the lad.

Its my phone. Always throws in duplicate words for some reason when ever I’m typing on here.

Its the website as doesnt doesn’t happen anywhere else. The autocorrect doesn’t actually correct stuff most the time either

I inky pot Lovren in when second guessing Klopp. I wanted Gomez there.

I like Lovren, certainly don't think he's as bad as some make out but definitely as a big **** up in him, not good for a CB.
