Football vs Rugby

Imagine a football game where one team scores 5 five penalties (I should say freekicks without a GK facing it) and the other team scores 4 penalties...that's Rugby

 

I’ll watch England rugby union and league internationals on the box. I’ll go to watch pretty much any football live.

 

I think rugby league is ****. Awful game. Might as well watch American football.

 

You should go to watch an Exeter game. They’re a very good team and the club is very well run. They’re also quite violent.

 

American Football is much worse. Absolutely ****e sport.

I'd love football to have the fair play attitude that rugby, snooker, etc has but other than that, football pisses all over other sports.

 

Like watching international rugby (6 nations/ world cup) but that's about it.

Enjoyed playing it in school. Got knocked out one time though which wasn't pleasant (especially at 14 or 15 years old), ball was loose, dived down to get it, my mate tried jumping over me but instead booted me in the temple. Got the rest of the day off school though, so every cloud and all that.

 

Think that is utter bollocks TBH.
People gauge eyes, punch **** out of people from behind, pretend to be injured to allow tactical changes etc. The "rugby players don't cheat and play to the spirit of the game" is a myth imo.
The bit about respecting decisions is true though

 

Yeah I enjoyed playing it at school. But I just cannot get into it as a spectator sport. I've tried, especially when the six nations are on, but it just bores me to tears after about 5 mins.

 

Love watching International Rugby Union ... love teams that attempt to play 'running rugby' ...

Love Rugby and played it for the best part of 20 yrs. First as a schoolboy and then club rugby when I had the time. Played until I was mid 30’s.

Still watch regularly and help coach the kids at one of the local clubs here.

I prefer rugby to football. Get to Twickenham a couple of times a year.

The atmosphere is great, and friendly.

 

I drive past it quite often, on my way to the M3 and Soton, but I've never been in. From the outside, it looks more like an office block than a stadium.

 

Great atmosphere as Saints says. I just wish they’d stop singing that ****ing irritating spiritual!...

 

They were singing that at St Marys the day England won the egg chasers World Cup

 

I’d like to find the **** who started that off and introduce him to his own chariot!...

 

I hate rugby.
