    Given his record in this fixture - particularly at Wembley it is an appalling appointment and one that does not give me a good feeling about the outcome on Saturday evening

    Incredible isn't it. Take CR7 out of Manure and they fall apart. Take CR7 out of Madrid and they fall apart. Although I don't particularly like the guy, he must go down as one of the best footballers ever.

    Zidane was no fool. He probably had a pretty good inkling that Ronaldo was looking for one last move, Benzema had lost it and Gareth Bale's injuries are taking their inevitable toll. It was a good time to go.

    If UEFA introduce the maximum £100m transfer limit per season, it could be a longish road back from here to winning the CL again.

    Looks like Pool are going to need their customary referee intervention!

    Mind you, one time each season something goes against them, which enables them to revel in the "world is against us" thing. Doesn't quite balance out the several decisions a match that go their way!

    Yep, business as usual, Watford denied a clear penalty v the Mousers with the game at 0-0. Add this to the penalty Spurs should have had at Wembley, the two others City should have had at Klanfield and the penalty Huddersfield should have had, will referees ever give a penalty against Liverpool again. You can expect them to go on and steal 3 points now, when they should have been a goal behind.

    VAR ruling Eibar's opener had crossed the line once again begs the question why the Premier League think they're above using the system
