Silva shown pedigree in Portugal but has shown us nothing in Leicester shirt. Just looked beyond average. From what he has done for us he isnt better then King or James I would move him on and get a creative midfielder in On Drinkwater he started his last season here really well but after I think he got injured and sent off around November time he was never the same. And hard to play well when he went from playing with Kante to King and Amartey. He improved when Ndidi came in But due to him refusing to play and handed in loads of transfer requests I wouldnt have him back. But we do need someone like him and that someone is sadly not Adrien Silva
He did not have all the responsibility for creativity placed on him and he never did in the title winning season. His responsibility was to recycle the ball quickly and pass to our creative players like Mahrez and he failed miserably. Everything that you saw of him the previous season just went away - his positional ability, his passing ability and any grit or effort - running around aimlessly seems to be enough for some people. He was one of the worst performers in that season but people give him a lot of slack because there was an easier target in Mahrez. Thankfully we aren't linked with him and good luck to the lad if he has the balls to walk away from his massive contract to join Fulham.
Any enough about talking about former players, on to the rumours: We are linked with Spanish winger Ibai Gomez from Alaves - is valued at £23m which is a good chunk of change for a 29yo.
Hamza Choudhury has signed a new deal. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...leicester-citys-hamza-choudhury-signs-2253586
Another report is saying that he is available for £4.5m - that is a fair price. We have a lot of youngsters so I am up for us bringing in someone with experience. Puel has said that Benkovic will remain at Celtic - fair enough as we have a number of CBs already and he is first choice there.
We paid almost £30m for Slimani, who was 28. I'd be concerned that someone whos valued at £23m can leave for £4.5m though
I’m all for leaving Benkovic at Celtic till next season but, agreeably it’s in a poor league, I’ve jusy watched the first half of Celtic v Hamilton and he looks like one hell of a player. Granted no one closes him down, but he can pass and doesn’t look troubled in the slightest. I can’t see how we wouldn’t be better off if we had a partnership of him and Maguire. He is playing on the left side of the defence so that’s Maguire, Evans, Soyuncu and Benkovic who all potentially prefer that side. I’m never sure if that’s much of an issue or not...
He is out of contract in the summer - better something then nothing right? Everything I read about him seems good - is a proper traditional winger so him on the left and Albrighton on the left would be heaven for strikers.
I can't find the video but Carragher and Neville discussed this and they said it was a big factor, especially in the modern game where CBs are expected to do more then just defend. Here is a half decent article https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-a-left-foot-right-balance-in-central-defence
No. We already have overseas 'proper' wingers in Diabate and Gezalle, and they aren't setting things alight. There's no point buying yet another player for the same position just for the sake of it. And let's face it, we aren't very good at judging how overseas players will play jn the Premier League. Let's concentrate on positions where we have a real lack of options.
Left wing is a position we have a lack of options - since Diabate doesn't look like he is going to break into the team and Gray looks set to carry on being a striker it makes sense we are after someone with experience rather then a promising youngster. We have no proper wingers on the left who hug the line and put in crosses as everyone we have that can plays there are either right footed or converted #10s who cut inside all the time like Maddison.
Raneiri wants to take Danny Simpson, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki to Fulham - I have no problem with that at all.
Fuchs would only sign on loan or a deal until the end of the season as we all know he is moving to america to be with his family at the end of the season Dont think Puel will let Simpson go now Amartey is injured aswell
Am hoping that Puel will give Johnson or Pascanu a shot at RB. Both their contracts run out in the summer so might be now or never.
Darnell Johnson has already signed a new deal In recent weeks Ricardo has looked alot better defensivley
Oh ok - transfermarkt haven't updated their details. Would still like to see them have a chance to be backup at least - Simpson has lost a step and he was limited to begin with.
Depend where his contract is at ... if he could just walk away for nowt in the summer they will likely accept anything provided they have cover
Think if we can keep everyone and add one winger with a burst of pace who can play on either wing then it will be a successful window. Someone like Hudson-Odoi on loan wouldn’t be a bad option.
