...instead of Harper and McShane instead of Rosenior. Interesting choice by NP, thought he might have put Koren in the middle but lets see if young Tom can show some of his undoubted skill.

It will be interesting to see if Cairney can make the grade. There is no argument that the lad has skill but he is fairly chunky and lacks any sort of pace so needs too long on the ball. Hopefully these are areas which the coaching team have been working on during his couple of months out. Overall though, a perfect opportunity for him to prove himself.

Heh - it wasn't long ago that Everton were reportedly interested in his services!

Not a source as such, because it won't be regular info, but I can assure you the info has come from a first team squad player, first hand. I guess you will know if it is accurate at 3pm tomorrow!

I'd have preferred Koren and Evans in there but let's hope that Cairney can do a job then.

It will be Evans and Belaid surely.

    Guzan
    Macca - Chester - Gerrard - Dawson

    Koren - Cairney - Evans - Stewart

    Mclean - Fryatt

Looks like a good team to me. I would rather see Devitt for Stewart though.

Why? NP has already started Belaid wont be thrown straight in. I guess he will play the majority of reserve games and get 20-30mins in a couple of league matches until he is up to scratch.

Assuming it's true, I think Nigel is missing a trick, a game against Scunny is an ideal opportunity to try Evans and Koren in the middle.

I'd stick Devitt and Mclean on the wings, with Fryatt and Stewart up front and I'd play Solano ahead of Macca.

it suprises me how lethargic cairney looks and koren can beat a man and score a goal or 2.Lets hope cairney steps it up if he starts.cant imagine koren being too happy mind you.

I thought he would put Koren in the middle and Devitt on the wing. Think Mclean did more than enough on Tuesday to stay up front, he really isn't a winger and his partnership with Fryatt is starting to look good.

I'm not too concerned about the Stewart/Mclean switch, it's just something I'd like to see tried, but the Koren one is very disappointing, he obviously doesn't like being out wide and he's definitely better than Cairney.

    I'd like to see

    Guzan
    Macca Chester Gerrard Dawson
    Devitt Koren Evans Stewart
    Fryatt McLean

Stewart did look his best up front so I would like to see a new winger come in to allow us to utilise Stewart in a more useful position.

I'm not sure it would be a good idea to start swapping stuff around in a game we need to win. Having said that, we haven't won in three. I'd give Belaid a start alongside Evans with Stewart and Koren out wide. I don't think it's a good idea to throw a player recovering from injury straight into the squad, but I can see Cairney making a sub appearance.

    I'd go for:

    Guzan
    Solano Chester Gerrard Dawson
    Koren Evans Belaid Devitt
    Fryatt Stewart

NP will choose the best team for the job. If Cairney starts it will be because it is right for the team and I'm sure they will have been working on him in training since we last saw him.
