Yorkie I don't understand this. Do you want him to go away? To grovel forgiveness? Something else? If you keep replying, pretending it isn't you, then he'll happily bear bait you. And to be honest for the rest of us it is pretty boring. Why not either: Truely ignore his posts or Give him a break as superhorns in this place seems to have made an effort. But what you cannot do is ignore political posts from one source and pounce on those from another. Of course you must do what you want but all I can say to a fellow horn, with the greatest respect, is that you are letting him win at the expense of us all. Go on. You can do it. You're a hornet after all.
Bank holiday on Monday, it was. Middle of the week already it is. Game on Sat too believes I. Lovely.
Morning all. Rather cloudy, with a shower or two, but the temperature has risen considerably. Went to a meeting last night put on by the prefecture for the ex-pats. Numbers were limited to 450 because of the size of the room, but is was full to overflowing. What was amazing was that there were only two faces I knew, showing how different this part of France is to some areas where the Brits gather together. I thought that maybe there were a 100 or so in the area, but clearly there are far more.
Well the big news from this part of rural France today, is that our Mayor, the one in the next commune and two councillors are being hauled in front of the court in February on criminal charges. They have been voting to allow wind turbines to be erected in the area, but it turns out that it is on land that they or their families own. There are very strict rules on declaring an interest and not voting, but the records show that these rules were ignored. I must find out what the penalties are.
Morning all. Temperature has continued to rise making it much more comfortable. Showers forecast for this evening, but hope to have everything done before then. Shops now stocking up with chocolate, the town halls are having the flashing lights erected, but no real sign of Christmas as yet.
The rain continues here but while it helps fill the reservoirs Spain just isn't geared up for rain. Seems every year scenes of cars floating down streets is the norm. Well my extreme right brother-in-law and wife head home tomorrow and normality returns (I can put my Gib tshirt back in the wash please log in to view this image ). And I'll try the pressure cooker method on my christmas pudds. Sorry OFH but my puds need 5 weeks to mature so cannot delay but I promise you no other sign of Christmas . Tried the British Corner Shop (Waitrose/Harrods/others) for expats. 15 GBP discount for first order and free delivery. Worked like a dream with tracked order processing. Did a stock take of tea bags and maybe I over did it. Just over 2,900. Anyway, the Bird's custard powder will do a great job alongside the Xmas pudds. And the Bisto/Branston/Pickled onions are in place. You can buy these things here in Carrefour but we rarely use it, and they only stock small jars/packets. And their prices are shall and we say on the high side (they even make Waitrose seem OK). Anyways enjoy your day one and all
Well Dave away to Swansea tomorrow. Could be tough with them on the edge of the play-offs and still having some Prem talent in their squad. That said they must be worried about the on fire scoring machine. Just hope we haven't peaked too soon. I can see you buying me a pint at the Vic next year Dave. The image gets clearer with every point. C'mon u Canaries
