    It's not just my three kids, there are another five nephews and four neices too!

    I don't actually mind that bit though tbh, Christmas is about the kids (if you completely ignore the original religious occasional of it) so happy to spend on them within reason.

    It's the competing amongst adults that gets on my nerves. The mrs' (nm) family are terrible, they check how much everything cost whilst trying to outdo each on...
    - cost (who spent the most AND who got the best bargain)
    - surprise (self explanatory)
    - gut wrenchingness (who can upset the rest the most; so called "happy tears")
    - timing (they all want to be last to give).
