Black Friday: people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like. What I will tell you, Joe, is that "great deals" on laptops usually involve chips/models/software that are about to be superseded, so forget BF and do proper due diligence. Ditto with phones, although I don't do expensive phones to be honest.

It came at a good time for us because our oven has just recently packed it in and we got £100 off a new one. Seems like everything's been breaking down lately, it was all new at the same time and I guess they've collectively decided they've had enough.
Black Friday as has been said is another American import like Halloween that we could well do without. As for bargains as has been said be careful as sometimes they're not all they are made out to be. Joe I don't want to sound like the phone police but an iPhone for a 9 year old...really.

Which? are saying that something like 80% of 'deals' are cheaper at other times. Is this country just so gullible? Do other European countries follow America and get sucked into their nonsense ?

Very true this mate.. I get 8 deals a day off Amazon Prime being a member, the whole Black Friday ****e is basically yet another tool to lure people in with little or no gain. Half the stuff being offered any way you can buy off Ali Express a lot cheaper without custom duties.

Genereally companies put the prices up a few months before Black Friday. It's a con. They'll be other times in the year that it's cheaper.
Exactly mate. I had been keeping my eye on a couple of hols for next year and a 4k TV. I challenged Curry's on the TV and all they said was it had been at an higher price in the last 90 days. Anyway telling them to "f*ck right off ya lying b*stards" gets you banned from the shop. The holidays both TUI and Jet2 were more or less the same. Couldnt tell them to go away in jerky movements tho as I like my hols.
