We have had the title for this thread for quite a while now.

Whilst I don't think Sparky will be leaving us any time soon, I think we need to change our luck and refresh the name for the thread.

There were some good suggestions a while back. Can we come up with something that the mods can't resist changing it too.

Could have ideas lined up, but we should keep the title for now...I too don't think Hughes sacking is imminent, but can't see him being here in the long term.

For the Jack Reacher fans out there.
I know everyone is different, but having just read the latest book, I have to rate it as probably the worst Reacher book I have read.
I wasn’t over impressed with the preceding book, and had hoped that it was a blip, but this latest effort would indicate, to me, that Lee Child has lost his way.
I won’t give the storyline away, or press my case for why I disliked it, unless pushed, but disappointed am I. :emoticon-0106-cryin

Thanks st B. I’m a couple of books behind, which in itself says something about where they’ve been heading. I will catch up though.

Did you see my post about Tom Cruise being dropped as Recaher and it’s going to a tv series format? :)

Yes I saw that. I can understand why Child went with Cruise, ie box office, but it was a complete sell out.
Thankfully he seems to have come to his senses, with regards to wanting an actor of the right proportions to play Reacher in the series.

Do you not feel that many authors/artists' works are like this? I used to be an avid Tom Clancy fan - then he just went utterly off the boil. Then on to Patricia Cornwell. Just the same. Similarly many musicians create two/three/four decent albums then drift out of form. After that they all rely on die hard fans who hope for a recovery that never comes.

I've got to the age where once the rot sets in I just move along.

Yep. Read most of his. Love the Camel Club series.

If you like Baldacci try Michael Connolly and his Harry Bosch series. First one was Black Echo (I know you’ll be anal like me and want to read them in order).

Thanks, I thought the same about the last one, and I have the next one on my Kindle waiting. In a way he’s kind of done Reacher to death, maybe he should do it literally!

A series I would thoroughly recommend is the Shardlake books by C.J.Sansom, which are excellent. I’m halfway through the latest, “Tombland”, which is completely un-put-downable.

I’ve just realised that in life there are only a few people that I never forgive.

Mrs No7 has just accused me of having “I’m a Celebrity Tourette’s” whilst watching TV.

    ****ing Harry Redknapp.

If sex with two people is a twosome and sex with three people is a threesome, does that explain why so many people call me handsome?
