30 teams here who should be part of Prem 1 and Prem 2

    • Norwich
    • Midds
    • Leeds
    • Sheff Utd
    • West Brom
    • Derby
    • Forest
    • Swansea
    • Blackburn
    • QPR
    • Villa
    • Birmingham
    • Stoke
    • Wednesday
    • Man City
    • Man Utd
    • Liverpool
    • Chelsea
    • Spurs
    • Arsenal
    • Everton
    • Wolves
    • Leicester
    • West Ham
    • Newcastle southampton
    • Fulham
    • Portsmout
    • Sunderland
You will note there are actually more Championship clubs than Prem. Yes we call argue about who should be in and who should be out, but the rest of the Prem clubs and Championship clubs should be the clubs fighting to stay in

Doc, who would decide who’s in or out? Who would say QPR and Portsmouth you’re in but sorry Palace and Watford you’re no longer playing at the top level, you’re now in the third tier alongside the likes of Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Millwall?

The problem is where do you draw the line of achievements, under what year? Blackburn Rovers for example with all their FA cup wins and league titles in the 1880's, Huddersfield with three league titles on the trot from 1924, Barnsley, Blackpool, Preston all with a far better history than Leicester City who won a couple of seasons back.

I love Leeds United, of course I am going to say we should be in there because we have great support, we could fill grounds and we have a lovely history but how many teams have been in the top flight ahead of us in the last dozen or more years? They are all going to say the deserve to be in there ahead of us

That is a very good point that the owners have overlooked. Secondly, what support will there be from us, Derby Villa etc. if one of us were to be promoted to the prem. I'm guessing we all know the answer to that - wave BYE :emoticon-0128-hi:

I think Doc is basing it on clubs with the largest support and fan bases that will ensure the biggest viewing figures which in turn would generate the highest income to be split between the clubs on a more fair and even basis

Guys its a discussion board and Im trying to demonstrate that teams who are always going to struggle in the Prem are not attractive to tv audiences. These bad teams earn £100m yet teams in the Championship earn £7m if they are on telly 3 times more than the prem seoss. Theres obviously a market for our team so why should we only get less than 10% of a sunday village team. It stinks, but just my opinion

Doc. It's what gives a team a chance to survive in the prem (collective bargaining), It's what makes the league at least a little competitive. It's also what attracts the big money so if we think they will dilute it then we and Radz are living in cloud cuckoo land. Doesn't matter about how many times you're shown live. TV is buying the product. Personally I'd be happier if Radz spent his money getting us there than on some daft breakaway league which is doomed to fail.

It does matter because the bigger the club the higher the viewing figures therefore the greater the revenue received by Sky from advertising

The money the likes of Leeds and Villa make for Sky in comparison to PL clubs like Bournemouth, Watford etc is disproportionate to the sum paid to each club, in as far as Sky probably make more profit from the bigger Championship clubs and make a loss on the smaller PL clubs
