I had a feeling in the summer that Leitner signing on a permanent could be the key to improvement this season and that has proved to be the case. As he says: "“We always have our plan – a really good plan as to how we play football and how we think about football. On the pitch though, sometimes you can’t think about the big moments – then you just have to take it and play with your heart. And if you play with your heart, of course sometimes you will fall down but you always get up and go on." The other thing is that 11 of our goals conceded were in the first 5 games. Since then we've only conceded 8 in 12 games and our goal-scoring has been maintained throughout. Last season we had to pass the ball sideways until Maddison or others were ready to receive it. Now Leitner takes care of that, moving the ball forward through the thirds with precision passing while Hernandez (or Cantwell), Stiepermann, Buendia and Pukki provide options up front, supported by the overlapping runs of Lewis and Aarons. The CBs and GK are also part of that, either passing the ball out of defence or taking it forward themselves. It's attractive football, but it's also bloody effective. https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...aith-in-canaries-championship-style-1-5786134
All I would add - if you have the opportunity to get to a live game this season to see ALL the action - take it!!
Just seen this and I agree with most of it, but I'm not sure we need to sign another winger - http://talknorwichcity.com/opinion/...ere-do-norwich-need-to-strengthen-in-january/ Thoughts
If anything medium to long term was to happen to Buendia or Hernandez that would only leave Passlack and Marshall, neither of who have grasped their (limited) opportunities to impress. I agree with the suggestion.
We don't play with wingers. The FB/WBs provide the width. Buendia and Hernandez play 'widish' in the Huckerby style. When Hernandez was injured, Cantwell did a great job WL(widish left). Marshall can play on either flank, as can Stiepermann, McLean or Vrancic. I could see bringing in a younger option like Kieran Sadlier (who is also 'home grown'), but I can't see spending big money there. LB and GK would be higher priorities for me.
Yes, we can cover if one of Bendy or Hernandez are injured and agree that cover for Krul/Lewis are our main priorities. We should have a few £K in the bank from the sale of half-season STs.

Not sure how definitive SW's reply is, but I still suspect that was mere journo speculation to fill copy space. The final section about Matt Jarvis is also to the point. He is often criticised about his long term injury problems which in fact are no fault of his own. I'm sure he'd far rather be playing.
I take your point about Jarvis, much like the rest of us I'm sure he'd rather be playing. But when my body gave up on me and I spent more time inured than playing I called time. I don't blame him for not doing so, he gets paid handsomely, but I can't be sympathetic, players come and go and it is Norwich I support. He is a big burden on the club and has been a monumental waste of money. One that in my opinion was all too predictable. I Can't blame him for taking a contract that offered him security into footballing senior years, but the board wanted shooting for approving such an obviously risky transfer. He may not consider himself lucky, he might even be depressed, but being paid as he is for nothing and no return is hard to swallow for people especially the self employed who quite simply would be up the creek. I would love to see him fit and given one last go, but he ain't ever gonna be, the sooner he faces that fact the soon he can move on. Bah!
From the AGM - Hoping not to sell ANY players in January, but if a player wants to move, then we just have to get the best price we can. eg Pritchard.
At the AGM SW was asked about Southampton link and answered: "No, I’m happy to answer it. I had no approach. I wouldn’t welcome it. I am happy to be here." That's pretty definite.
Webber did go on to say that he's not a NCFC "fan" and this isn't his dream job etc. One day he hopes to take on a role in Europe... But for now there's a job to do and (as above) he's not going anywhere. Pretty blunt but i'm happy with that!
A change from the usual articles on MFW, but definitely worth a read - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-ernie-acn-flags-pg-tips-and-home-sweet-home/
