The Macau track is consistently terrifying. Really cannot figure out what happened there; she goes in backward (and in the air) at extraordinarily high speed. Something happened before the contact at the corner; maybe brake failure, but some sort of contact that catapulted the vehicle too...without slowing it down. Freeze-frame this video and you can see that the car was already at head height when it reached the yellow car; it was a missile, and only just clipped the top on the way through: A miracle of great engineering and more than a bit of luck. Somehow the flying car just barely bounces off the top of the yellow car, and maintains its flight path. The clip of the rear off the ludicrously inadequate catch fence sent the driver in head-first, but might've saved her...going in tail first would've meant pretty extreme G-forces in a direction that race cars aren't meant to experience. . And if you're going to hit anything, a flimsy camera perch is the thing to hit.
Well done Zverev. How often does it happen when a player is turned over in the group phase, that he manages to turn it around in the final. Now he needs to do it in a GS next year. I cannot see Federer winning another GS, Nadal could win the French again, Djokovic possibily Wimbledon but I feel the Oz and US Opens will be won by someone different. The promising Russian who defeated Djoko in Paris and Zverev himself.
If you look at the odds and ends thread on the F1 site on here , big Ern posted a picture of the kerb that launched her . Bloody huge !!!
That kerb is lunacy and shouldn't exist. It's a launch ramp for all intents and purposes. It also might've ended up saving a life, though; a normally-sized kerb and her car doesn't vault quite that high, which would mean that it'd take a bump off the candy cane and might well have impacted the other vehicle at head height, rather than skipping off the top of it.
Just watched the highlights. Australia are in a bad way, but England are slowly building towards the World Cup. Great to see Tuilagi back, but Joe Cokanasiga is the future.
Last F1 race of the season coming up. Shame Charles will get taken out by Grosjean at the first corner.
Sure, but it’s always a Haas. Charles up to fifth, not that they’ve noticed but he got Ricciardo too.
