So at the time the bet was placed the information was already in the public domain. I wonder if the other 'insider information' used was similarly timed.

 

May be the cousin sold the story to the rag after getting on it?

There's plenty of news items from January claiming 'rush of bets' on Sturridge to Newcastle, West Brom, Inter .... He must have had his family worn out on a daily basis of where he was going.
