It’s the weakest part of the team, but shows how far the other areas have improved if we can carry that MF. I was impressed with the lad from City, but he need a Scholes type to sit with a clogger like Dier/Henderson or Delph.
Just seen that England (and other Nation League finalists) have secured a play-off place should they fail to qualify for Euro 20 via their qualifying (5 team) group. They also get £1.5m for taking part, another £1.5m for topping the group and potentially £6.6m if they win the trophy. The backup qualification route isn't a bad prize that tbf but the money isn't too shabby either. Where does it go though?
Neymar and Kylian Mbappe injuries give Liverpool fans Champions League confidence The Reds travel to Paris to take on PSG in the Champions League next week and have been given a real boost https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/neymar-kylian-mbappe-injuries-give-13620264
that's normally a good thing for us, lower expectations and we normally thrive. we didn't make cl final last season by chance, we earnt the right to be there.
Neymar probably just having a night off............will be interesting to see if either play this weekend
wont tell us much as its as bad as the Scottish league in terms of competitiveness. they have enough quality in squad to cope, leave them for the more important games.
VAR could be introduced to the Champions League and Europa League this season, UEFA has confirmed. European football's governing body had announced that the technology, which was rolled out in the 2018 World Cup and La Liga this campaign, will be used next season. But UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and European Club Association chairman Andrea Agnelli have suggested it could in fact be put in place within the next few months for the knockout stages of this season's competitions. Speaking at a news conference in Brussels, Ceferin and Agnelli - who is also the Juventus chairman - said VAR would be in use "at the latest next season". Ceferin said: "We have started to do all the preparation. [UEFA referees chief] Roberto Rosetti and his team are very good. There are important points of view – the referees and all the technical aspects. "I expect the report in a week or so and then we will see when we can implement it. At the latest next season." Agnelli added: "At the latest next season also means there is space for earlier implementation. We are delighted as clubs with that and we thank UEFA for the work they have been putting together." As things stand Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are all in contention to progress to the knockout stages of this season's Champions League. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...bEF9E44V1VooSESFyfJ0WrsB9Q8hj6L-8kpviGwM2bO54
