Paul Merson has gone for draw: Watford vs Liverpool (Saturday, 3pm) Watford are a decent team - they should have beaten Newcastle, they had enough chances. And this is a hard game for Liverpool coming after the international break, while they have a big game at PSG on Wednesday. But let's be honest, if you are Liverpool, you want to win the Premier League rather than the Champions League. They need to win that, so they must win here, but I just think this will be a hard game for them as Watford pick themselves up majorly for these games. I do not see Watford winning this, but I do see them causing Liverpool problems as they are a much better team than people think they are. They beat Tottenham at home and should have beaten Arsenal away, so they are no pushovers. PAUL PREDICTS: 2-2 (14/1 with Sky Bet)
LAWRO HAS GONE FOR A DRAWN TOO. Watford v Liverpool Despite the controversy over the way they got their point at Southampton before the international break, I actually thought Watford's performance at St Mary's was decent - that part of it seems to have been overlooked a bit. Liverpool beat Fulham last time out but, for the first time at Anfield this season, they were probably a little bit fortunate to get a win. There was a question mark over whether Aleksandar Mitrovic's goal for Fulham should have stood just before the Reds took the lead, and they huffed and puffed a bit after that too - it was not a very fluid performance. please log in to view this image It does not matter that Liverpool are not at their best at the moment - that is not a problem - but their preparation for this game might be. The Reds are obviously not the only team who have seen all their players disappear on international duty over the past fortnight but Jurgen Klopp has an important Champions League match at Paris St-Germain on Wednesday to think about too, which complicates things a little bit for the weekend. Taking all of that into consideration, I am going to go for a draw. I just have the feeling Watford will be lying in wait for them, and they will see Liverpool as a scalp - just like they did with Spurs when they beat them in September.
