Harry "the Hurra" Kane

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Aug 15, 2015.

  1. Real Madrid want to sign Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane, but may be put off by the 25-year-old's £200m price tag. (El Confidencial - in Spanish)

The other thing that may put them off is Levy's hysterical laughter, right before he slams the phone down in their chairman's greasy face.

He’s rightly been renamed Banjo Kane.

Seems a lot of dough for a set piece player.

  9. I urge everyone to read my OP, and then come back here and apologise.

I absolutely called this, and I think everyone needs to be reminded.

In the meantime, I was amused in listening to Drive tonight. They were debating Southgate's claim that the Hurra is the best striker in the world, something I have maintained these past two years. Adrian Durham wasn't there, so Goughy tried to adopt his anti-Spurs persona, but without much conviction. What had me chuckling was the litany of red Mancs, Mousers, Chavs and Gooners who phoned in to slag off Kane and iterate the many, many strikers who are better than Kane.

The bitterness was dripping from the grill of my speakers. It was fantastically hilarious!

Banjo is a prize Berk who has been found out by many, if not all premier clubs and will be no nearer to a golden boot than you will playing in tune Tubby.

Kane is definitely up there as one of the best goal scorers on the planet, we should really embrace this fact because he’s English rather than resent him due to how much of a mong HIAG is.

Having said that, is he THE best? No. Not even close. He can’t be awarded this title due to a technicality of Ronaldo being a wide forward or Messi being a ‘False 9’, nor should he be considered Aguero’s equivalent imo, given that man turns up and delivers titles with his goals.

I’d say he’s comfortably in the top 10, but ain’t nowhere near number 1.

Give me a Drogba, a Costa or an Aguero any day over somebody who scores more with nothing to show for it.

Kane is like a Matt Le Tissier player. Scores for fun and looks great in a team that achieves **** all.

He’s a brilliant striker, but no Spurs fan on the planet would admit that Arsenal player X who scored 40 goals and won nothing, was better than Spurs player Y who scored 22 great goals including goals in big title deciding games and won them the league. No chance.

Exactly. Kane could be a mega star in a team like City, Real, Barca, Juve. But has he got the ambition to turn his talent into trophies. ?

Well, imagine how good he’d be in say, City’s team.

He’s a natural predator, but also contributes a lot to overall team play.

That’s what I’m saying. In a better team he’d be unstoppable. I wonder how much longer he’ll give it at spurs if you can’t win trophies ?

I don’t think he’d do much better in City’s team. Zlatan didn’t pull up any rugs in the Barca team he joined, it’s not always that simple the team has to play to their strengths. He’s Mr Spurs right now, at City he’d just be another fish in the pond.

We’re a very good side, but City are exceptional.

He’ll be with us for a few more years yet.
