Cannot recall why I posted this information! For my sins the only spirits which pass my lips are distilled in Kentucky or Tennessee however I will ask my wee cousin who is a 'ruined mother' on the merits of McQueen's Gin.

Its the other continental grocer that stocks two of the varieties (Aldi). Sainsburys have another variety, the Super Premium which is blooming good with the fancypants tonic Fevertree aromatic

I have noted your valuable information on a Billet-doux which I shall give to my cherubic wee cousin Gail when we have our next 'Cousins - Non Cousins' day out on the lash on Saturday 17th November. I am very sure she will want to try a 'Short' or eight of this tipple. I myself will be sticking to Makers Mark with ice'n'lemonade as that Brexit supporting toerag who owns J D Wetherspoon's has stopped purveying Erdinger Weissbier.

    Wb4.jpg

It may of course transpire that such a fine and exclusive drink might have to wait until the mid evening when the 'stop-oots' leave W'spoon's and visit a few of Edinburgh's more salubrious rub-a-dubs on our way for a bit of dancing and general carousing.

People being addicted to games on their mobile phones and/or X Box. I think the art of conversation (and importance) will have to be introduced into the school curriculum at some stage. These things are beginning to rule lives.

Talking of mobile phones, they drive me mad. I don't have one but whenever I try to use one, all this bloody swiping back and forth and getting anything but what I want drives me up the wall. I need a mobile phone but I wish to remain sane. Just give me a phone with no swiping required and a simple interface. I've designed my interface and I won't settle for anything less (or as some would say, more)

Not as good as my design Reebs. I think my design provides for all the facilities I would want but with a very simple interface (with no swiping). I would want to be able choose the functionality I want and to design my own interface and things would always appear in the area I have defined for those things . Basically the things I would use frequently would be directly accessible and very clear. There is a limit to how many functions I want on one screen. For the lesser used functions I would have a "More" button to another screen (designed in the same way.

Right of way in France. There is a stupid and potentially dangerous right of way rule that applies in France. A little road sign with an X (below) means you have to give way to traffic coming from the right. Fair enough but this can appear on a main road and someone can drive out of a side road with the right of way. Why they can't simply put white lines across the road that doesn't have right of way I have no idea. All side roads should have to give way to those on the main road. There will be an accident one day, if not already, and they will learn to use the white lines

I have an old Sony Ericsson mobile which serves me admirably. Use this with a well-known retail outfit providing connection services. Since I've been with them many years can still use the prepaid service. I declined the 'More' thing when offered it some time ago. Therefore, none of this infernal swiping, thank goodness! Hardly ever use the thing, but it's there when I need it.

Forget Alton Towers... Forget Thorpe Park...
Get a flight to Mumbai and get a taxi from the airport at half past one in the morning. That is a real white knuckle ride...

Forget New York, the city that never sleeps is Mumbai.
We quickly concluded that the rules of the road are survival of the fittest and just plain chicken.
I fully expect that the first thing that wears out on an Indian car is the horn.
They must get through tyres here quicker than Lewis Hamilton as the roads are dreadful. You will never moan about the odd pothole in Blighty after being on these roads. If Force India had a couple of taxi drivers in their cars, they would be one of the top teams in F1, provided that all the opposition drove trucks and F1 cars had horns added!
We all have those images of trains in India with people sat on the roof and hanging off the sides but nowadays it is more likely to be buses that they are hanging off; and even worse motorbikes. The number of bikes that I saw at silly o'clock and the guy is driving (mainly with a helmet) and behind him he has his other half riding pillion and squeezed between them are a kid or two.

Never been to India before so definitely the first time. I am not surprised that the roads within central Mumbai are in horrendous condition because there is a lot of construction work going on, most of which appears to be building raised roads right down the middle of existing roads, forcing motorists to virtually drive on building sites.

You start crapping yourself when your driver is going 80km/h weaving in and out of trucks and he is doing this one-handed as he is on the phone with someone through his earpieces and microphone!

Nor Pakistan. In the '70s and '80s (was there a couple of times) if you went by car eastwards from Karachi to, say, Badin, the road eventually narrows into a one lane deal. From then on it's just a game of 'chicken' as cars hurtle towards each other until, hopefully, one driver gives way and pulls over to the side. Very scary. Hope the roads are wider now.

For many a year the quality Sunday newspapers have had supplement magazines. A more recent trend is at the end of an article the contributor provides a little insight into their existence by telling you the current book they're reading, what music they're listening too etc. To be honest I could given a flying fook what some faceless journo is reading or listening to on his/her IPod. I know there are many many more important matters to get annoyed by but this virtue signalling bollox irks me.

Well I managed to get the music synced onto the phone but the audio books stumped me. I've ended up taking out an audible subscription as I do like a decent audio book on a long journey
