Think Clarke, who looks the brightest prospect came through the academy, doc. The others? Well it’s far too early to tell whether victor did great work or just punted on numbers to buy an u23 team as we didn’t have one!

    Time will tell.

Neither depressed nor concerned, I accept that I expect the worse to happen, and thus every goal we score and every point we earn is a positive, which is why I'm actually enjoying the season so far. The WBA score neither upset or depressed me, I'm just attuned to accepting that results like this are going to happen (I expect it to happen every game :) ) thus when it does happen, it just goes over my head, as I knew it was going to happen, and when I'm wrong then its a bonus.

Whilst I can admire every person who is totally positive and thinks we will win every game 20-0 :p ; I've found my attitude is the one that has allowed me not to have any part of my life spoilt by the teams exploits, although I will admit my partner took some convincing that we marry on a Monday and not a Saturday, her argument being that given I know we are going to lose, I don't need to watch the games, and thus a Saturday wedding was a perfectly valid day for marriage :)

My points with regards to the potential finances required to get a team that has any chance of being competitive within the premier league, was more for one of discussion. I've given an opinion which I consider to be very conservative on both the minimum number of players we need to sign and also the amount of finances required (some may say I'm even being optimistic with that opinion ;) ). Maybe its just the fact that with it being my first day of being able to post I'm just being hyper in wanting to discuss a variety of things, as obviously I'm not even expecting us to be in the play offs, so I've no need to worry about our finances for the premier league :)

Will agree there Doc with regards to Orta to some extent, and taking nothing away from the players that you mentioned, given that none of them have really broken into our first team squad as yet on a regular basis, how many are likely to come on in leaps and bounds, whereby they could be considered as being first team squad players in the premier league, as opposed to being back ups.

Thus we are still left with the hypothetical question of how many new first team players would be needed if we got promoted this season, and what would it cost. Leeds of London has named 3 that he considers good enough, I've named one, so that at present gives us 4 current first team players considered good enough to play in the premier league, which still leaves us with 7 players to find just to put 11 players on the pitch ( no point worrying about the subs bench yet), which is going to cost anywhere between £70 million and £140 million

Wouldnt I need to be sat up in the stands somewhere to be able to consider the birds eye view, or are we talking about the perspective of non flying birds, such as ostriches, emus, and my wife (she's scared of flying ;) )

Cheers Shako, had the 70's and 80's white Leeds ones, as well as that yellow one.

I also remember dropping the Eddie Gray figure (all my teams had the stick on team numbers) on the floor and my brother stepped on him. As we were in the middle of a game, glued Eddie back together (using normal Bostik glue, superglue wasnt around then), and to help the glue dry faster, I used my mums hairdryer on Eddie legs. Unfortunately this caused his legs to melt and he was attached to the base, by the smallest piece of plastic. Made it difficult to control when just flicking forward, but due to the figure being out of balance, was great for some swerving flicks

The goalkeeper’s birds eye view is a forum in-joke, but if you knew the backdrop, the ostrich (head in the sand) birds eye view is probably quite appropriate.

Morbid, I was hoping for a balls-out total doom-monger whose sole raison d'etre is to antagonise all and sundry (given the fact that we're missing one this past couple of months) but you appear far too reasoned and even-handed for the sort of chaos I had in mind. Hey-ho, the search continues.

Are you perchance related to Doc or Whitejock by the way? <whistle>

What were you expecting Davy, something like

Radz is a total hypocrite, he's taking all you suckers for a ride. He's looking to get promotion on the cheap, without any decent players by importing Belgrano the one trick wonder, selling assets in the summer, buying no-one and loaning sh!t. How much money has he pocketed from transfers already? Taylor, Wood, Vieira

Once (if) in the premiership he will hike the ticket prices, sell more tacky kits and milk the club of any assets that are left during the January of our first return and relegation year and then sell the remains of the club to the highest bidder. He's a business man after all and just waiting for the best opportunities to make a killing, return on his investment,

    Wake up losers !!!!

Shaks, are you sure you weren't just really drunk and ended up a little more north, and a little more East of Leeds?

This is when we should be relying upon our loanees.

We've sent Blackman back. We need to be sending Baker and possibly Harrison back too.

    Overrated overpaid and underwhelming...
