Kane does get the job done. Spurs don't. We lack depth and quality in some areas and our players each play a lot of games. Kane, for example, has played for England constantly and rarely gets any time off, while we don't have suitable backup for him. Leicester won the league playing very few games. They largely used a core XI, plus a few regular subs. The squad factor wasn't such an issue for them, but it hit them hard the next season, when it became one.
When they sold their best player it become an issue. It’s just another excuse for Kane imo, he scores goals for fun but I’ve never seen him win a trophy with a squad that is certainly good enough to win something. Why didn’t you beat us in the FA Cup last season?
Kane was rushed back from his injury against Bournemouth. He still doesn't look right now and was pretty poor at the World Cup. He's scoring goals fairly regularly, but he's nowhere near as influential on games and he's struggling to get around the pitch as much. The annoying thing about it is that we didn't need to do it. We scored four against Bournemouth after he went off, won 3-0 at Swanse and beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Then he came back in and we struggled for the rest of the season.
There’s something wrong at Spurs, I don’t see a good enough reason to keep missing out on trophies. We’ve got a similar issue here now, no natural leaders. Zlatan/Rooney left and so did the trophies.
So if we hadn't won it and Arsenal or Spurs had ... would that have been because everyone else had a off year? ... and if Lippy G hadn't slipped and Liverpool had won the title ... would that have been because everybody else had an off year? ... Truth is we won it because we didn't have an off year .... we were the best ream over 38 games only losing 3 ... and nobody could stop us ... and we were also the best team over the last nine games of the season before ...
... just like Beckham? .. OK then ... and as are everybody's title wins bar City and Chelsea ... the only clubs to have won it since us
Kane has got a great first touch, ability to get the ball out from his feet and finish. But he looks ****ed mate. He looks like a 30+ year old player at the moment. I think he's carrying the weight of some fatigue and injury and the weight of Spurs needing to win something.
Course they count mate ... we won a league cup when I was a toddler ... wasn't as much fun as winning the Prem mind ...
