As Rees Mogg is worth over £100 million I doubt he personally needs my modest contribution. The media are desperate for his interviews because of his intelligence and wit. He is head and shoulders above the vast majority of today’s politicians. He has a lot of support throughout the Tory membership and would certainly get my support in a leadership election. It looks like my Conservative membership fee contribution came just in time.

If he is worth all that, why does he have the nerve to ask people for more? What are they planning to spend it on?

1 dead, 227 injured, scores arrested in France’s road blockades regarding fuel duty and anti Macron protests. France is looking increasing unstable with extreme politics squeezing the political middle ground. Despite the UK’s internal differences over Brexit we fortunately do not suffer the political riots and violent demonstrations regularly seen in France.

You would need to ask his many supporters why they consider him such a good candidate for high office and their ongoing support plans.

As you are clearly one of his supporters I am surprised that you are resisting giving him money. So you don't know anymore than I do why any fool would give him money to spend on something that is unspecified.

You are probably confused as usual, I doubt he is requesting any funds. Tory leaders are rarely chosen from the favourites so unlikely Rees Mogg will end up in charge, which is a pity.

Chip in with some money it says quite clearly. Not much confusion about that is there? Why should these wealthy individuals need to appeal to others for money unless they believe they are dealing with a bunch of idiots who will cough up.

I think it was aimed at Tory party members, which I am pleased to say I am not.

It is high time the Tories purged their party of scum like this. If they are blatently collecting money to help topple their leader, then they do not belong in the party. It is high time the Tories started doing what Labour did in the time of Neil Kinnock and expelling people from the party.

I agree totally cologne. It would make little difference to the numbers in Westminster as they are showing total disloyalty to the party and are saying they will vote against the proposals. From what I read they are stirring the moderate MPs against them.

The ERG group and fellow followers are being loyal to the party, manifesto and the stance fully expressed by the PM before she was encouraged by influencial senior civil servants to capitulate to the EU’s ever increasing demands. It really needed a Brexiteer with backbone and confidence to seize the many opportunities within a proper Brexit.

Unfortunately the scum in the Labour Party have returned under the Momentum umbrella.

Total rubbish. One minute the ERG group are saying that Mogg cannot be PM because he has never held a ministerial office, the next they are asking for money to depose TM and put him in charge. Mogg himself one minute says that the UK would have to pay money to the EU, and the next he says they wouldn't. They say whatever will play well with a particular audience, and unfortunately some are taken in by it.

Big difference between a party with a huge membership, and one with a tiny shrinking one. By your own admission you have no say in policy making, whereas the Labour party does have a system in place to act on the ordinary memberships views.

    Wrong on both counts.
The Tories regularly ask us members for ideas and our opinions. The Labour Party will continue to purge the moderates within and the narrow far left band of policies dictated by Momentum will become official. The problem is nobody takes any notice whilst the electorate continue not to trust this bunch with power.

Nadine Dorries an arch Tory leaver, has just woken up to the fact that if Brexit takes place the UK will not have any MEPs to speak up for it. Just last week, ex-Brexit secretary Dominic Raab let slip he “hadn’t quite understood” how heavily UK trade relies on the Dover-Calais Channel crossing. Just where do we get these people from?

Legally no money is due from the UK but Rees Mogg sensibly has offered a sweetener of 20 billion to the EU to facilitate a mutually beneficial trade deal. I think it is all too complicated for you to grasp.

Ideas and opinions are different to having a direct input into policy making.
