Beckham was a great passer/crosser of the ball and a wonderful talent in dead ball situations. He was also extremely dedicated and worked hard. He lacked pace and wasn't as skilful with the ball in open play as some, but he was a vital part of probably the best midfield of the PL era. Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham (or Biggs, Schools, Keanu and Beckenham as Google calls them) covered all bases. He didn't need to do what the others did.
The fact you keep using Wes Brown as an example of a **** player with medals shows you have no idea what you’re on about. Technically the lad was one of the best centre halves this country has ever produced. His issue was staying fit for long periods and forming partnerships with other centre halves.
I didn't say that he was ****. He has a similar medal tally to Franco Baresi or Franz Beckenbauer, though.
Not necessarily. That's my point. Matt Le Tissier was a good player. He won nothing. Alan Shearer is the Premier League's top scorer. He won the league with Blackburn, then nothing else. Does that make him any worse?
There are always exceptions to the rule. Kane for example. Has won nothing so far. Aged 25, Giggs was probably into double figures by that age.
Exactly. Giggs played in a very good team with an excellent manager. His own ability contributed, of course, but that wasn't the only factor. Pointing solely to trophies is not a good way to judge a player's quality.
Part of a player’s quality is his ability to make a difference in big games and win trophies. That’s why Aguero is better than Kane imo.
When you compare two top strikers there’s usually small margins that separate them. In my opinion that’s what separates Aguero from Kane. Anyway, your Wes Brown assertion simply doesn’t work, he was a top class centre half. You were inferring he won a lot of trophies as a result of good fortune or serendipity rather than his ability.
Aguero's an exceptional player in a squad with endless quality and a great coach. His only problem is his fitness. He should be massively outscoring Kane, though. He's getting fantastic supply every week. Did Wes Brown suddenly become **** when he left Man Utd? Did Phil Neville? They stopped winning trophies. They were what they were, but they won because of the quality around them at Old Trafford, both on and off the field. They certainly contributed to it, but you can't do it on your own, as they found out at other clubs.
Wes Brown left United at 31 years old mate. He won everything here and clearly knew he couldn’t replace Rio or Vidic with his injury record. You can have Phil Neville, he was never a great defender and he found his level. I wouldn’t have argued with you if you’d said his name instead.
Kane’s supply line is hardly ****e either... you lot wouldn’t sell Eriksen or Alli for less than 9 figures.
Our squad isn't on City's level. Our first eleven might be somewhere near it, but they barely seem to miss absent players. De Bruyne is an outstanding player and they've been slaughtering people while he's been out. Their team's very good. Their depth is far better than everyone else's.
For sure but Vardy and Co managed to win the league without all them City players. There always seems to be an excuse for Kane as to why he doesn’t get the job done, it’s not like he’s playing for Huddersfield.
