I haven’t emailed the yet, but I’ll take this and use it. His ****ing salary and annual bonuses were recognition of the outstanding work he has carried out. For those who aren’t fluent in Ralph bullshit, I have translated this below: “Keep your nose out, it’s jobs for the boys and clearly we don’t think the new woman has the balls to do the job Richard did.”
I particularly like how it's apparently important to protect the PL's future. He's basically been paid a bonus to stay on in a consultancy role rather than go elsewhere. How about we focus on our own future first eh? We'll be needing that quarter of million if we go down...
I get the idea they might want to keep him on in an advisory role, but I don't get the bit about a non-compete clause for Scudamore. Are they really afraid he'll set up a rival Premier League or raise a foreign league to same popularity as the EPL?
Exactly Fran and if they want to keep him on in an advisory role, pay him a fee for that work. They have made their own rod here by going to the clubs and asking for £250k as a bonus payment “for all the good work he has done.”
I still can’t get over that 250k each bonus, it’s so far beyond f*cked up that you just don’t argue with it , it’s hilarious.
You don’t strike me as someone who gets angry very often , you seem quite a placid person, or are you a mob hitman by night ?
Devil's advocate here. If money is the issue, let's face it, Scudamore has made an absolute ton of money for the Premier League clubs from TV rights etc. An absolute ton. Quarter of a million is peanuts to say thanks really.
What about clubs recently promoted? Sure it filters down but doesn’t affect them directly. My understanding is the current 20 PL teams are being ‘forced’ to pay.
He was paid annual bonuses every year on top of his salary, to say “thanks” for making all that money. Football continues to ignore the bottom of the food chain and only reward its top dogs. The issue is the scandal of giving a bonus on the bonuses when the bottom of the football pyramid is so desperate for investment. It smacks of a self indulgent, old boys club.
That's not the point here. If every club paid £250,000 into grassroots football in their area it would make a huge difference. I wouldn't mind the £5million bonus if the same went into grassroots football. But it's totally ignored by the twats at the Premier League. The FA can't afford to pump money into grassroots football, the money is all with the Premier League. ****s.
