He must have been over trained. The club is a disgrace. They should have 10 keepers on the books in case a few get injured like all properly run clubs. That's the promotion dream over anyway, a player who hasn 't played any league games is out for the season.
Youve missed the point we have only one goalie and have wasted money on blackman cos he was not good enough to start a game.
In august bielsa said he had three good keepers. Presumably he has some faith in miazek or huffer... and yes neither has any experience
There’s a place for both happy clappy optimism and doom and gloom misery on forums to keep a sense of perspective. Both sets think they are the realists. Table says we’re third but with patchy form. Maybe the middle ground is where it’s at.
More referring to how full the glass is than the league position 2p ! I’m still fairly confident... which as a natural pessimist is unusual... but less confident than I was.
That makes at least two of us then. Just got that feeling that come January all hell will be let lose on here because the wheels have fallen off and Radz ain't doing anything about it. I still however believe in Bielsa.
The main protagonist is on garden duty so only Wakey the wannabe Mr Harrogate may let loose if we start dropping down the League..
Unfortunately whilst there are still rules to allow goalkeepers to join a club as an emergency loan signing (outside of the normal transfer window periods), this is for a maximum period of 7 days (this can be renewed for a further 7 days upon expiry) and also only if none of a clubs fit goalkeepers have made more than 5 first team appearances ( so with BPF being fit, we don't qualify) So we either have to make do with the young goalkeepers that we have on our books, or sign someone out of contract. Edit - The appearance rule may actually be a Premier League rule, as the EFL rules states that an emergency signing can only be made if all professional keepers at the club are unfit to play, not that it makes much difference at present. If BPF were to be injured, it would be interesting to see how the EFL decide if Huffer or Miazek means we would still be ineligible
To be honest Davy, not at all, I expect us to concede and lose every time we play, thus this season has been a total breath of fresh air for me, as its been great to be proven wrong with my expectations. If I'm being totally honest, I had no idea who Bielsa was when he got appointed, had to read up on him, so expectations for this season were not high, and I'd have been surprised if we finished in the top 10, given the sameness of the squad, and a coach, who whilst highly regarded in the football world, had no experience of our league. Have been reading the forum for some time, and I would say that I am more negative than a lot of the present negative posts on here , although those same posts are also more negative than I would be at this moment in time (if you get what I mean )
Welcome aboard pal. Lets just hope Peacock Farrell does not get injured on International duty with Northern Ireland. What are the chances that could happen?
lol Milky, its the only way I've managed to stay sane supporting this club for 40+years, whilst the good times have been great, the mediocre times have been many. However that same attitude, also allows me to appreciate the directions the club is trying to take, without having to cope with the roller coaster of emotions. I expect one thing, and hope for another, and I would say so far this season my expectations have been surpassed by my hopeful side. I will however say that if we happen to get promoted, unless Radz sells the club to a money doesnt matter billionaire, we will come straight back down next season, as I consider that we don't really have any players capable of playing at the level at present (Philips is the possible exception) and thus we are going to have to spend a lot of money replacing the squad (and this is not a dig at Radz either, just think that the gulf between us and the premier league is very wide), especially when you consider Huddersfield have spent £80 million on players in 1 1/2 seasons, and look nothing like a premier league team, and thus that is the very big task facing us in my opinion, as opposed to the spending of £10/20 million in January to secure that promotion.
Cheers Elland If that was to happen, you'd like to think we would be allowed the opportunity of bringing a keeper in, but hey its Leeds United, so the EFL are bound to say there's nothing wrong with playing a 20 year old keeper with no first team experience, even if we managed to come up with 20 + precedents where the same situation hadn't been applied to other clubs
