Oh well only been on here about 5 minutes and got one of those stupid 'Doh' things already

Well 'Doh' right back to you KH, I'll make my predictions as I see fit thank you very much.

To me the top 5 is nailed on, just the order that's debatable, after that there's lots of teams chasing 6th, IMHO.

We are one of them, and it's very possible one of the other chasers will overtake us this season.

We're in disarray ATM, and are very short of cover at CB and striker. Fair play to your optimism, but we've a couple of possible sulkers in the camp in Luka and GDS, the outlook isn't great ATM.

PS When I work out how to do the 'Doh' emoticon, will alter post accordingly 'Doh'

Fair enough Solid, but I think we're well capable of slipping up majorly. My suspicion is that the Good Ship 'Tottenham' doesn't have a happy crew ATM.

The top 5 is nailed on? How is it nailed on? We have been top 5 4 times in the last 6 seasons so to write us off after 2 games (against top 2) is also worth a <doh>

Liverpool signed some good squad player but lost Meireles this summer, Arsenal lost Clichy, Fabregas and Nasri and got in weaker replacements.

We lost no1 important and have signed a quality midfielder (Parker) and a quality striker (Adebayor) plus got in a more reliable goalkeeper (Friedel).

Sorry if i'm crazy for thinking we have a chance to get 4th back and definitely think at worst we will finish 6th.

7th would be more than disappointing as the rest of the PL is ****e in my opinion.

We're going round in circles a bit here. 6th SHOULD be our absolute "worst case scenario". Even that, should not really be acceptable. We should definitely be in there challenging a significantly weakened Arsenal, and a not particularly impressive Liverpool, for 4th spot.

I agree but it pisses me off when for no reason whatsoever people think we are suddenly going to finish below one of the also-rans and finish 7th or 8th. Then can't back it up with anything other than we didn't sign a new centre back or that we have a few sulkers.

So two stupid 'dohs' from you already today, with ridiculous comments to boot.

Well 'Double Doh' back to you. (So annoying that I can't do that ridiculous emoticon back to you, but I'll get it one day!)

The top 5 is nailed on 'IMO' and doesn't include us because of our 'so-so' window, our perennial injury crisis, question marks over GDS and Luka, plus definite problems between Levy and Redknapp. Oh and we've been poor in our first lge two games as well, admittedly against probably the two best teams in the country.

Personally i think the Manchester clubs will be fighting for 1st and 2nd with Chelsea 3rd.

Fourth to 6th is very much a toss up at the moment but i would say due to the present situations at Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs then Liverpool could take 4th. I say this not just because of the squads but with management and owners etc taken into consideration. I believe the current infrastructure at Liverpool is superior to that at Spurs, and certainly that at Arsenal.

It is early in the season and like I said a prediction is very difficult at the moment. Should make for an interesting season <ok>

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just can't understand your reasoning.

Which comments of mine do you find ridiculous?

I can't see how anyone would say Arsenal had a better transfer window than us.

Problems between Redknapp and Levy? Where are you hearing this?

We have been poor but at the same time we had chances in both games which our strikers failed to take and if they had then who knows what could of happened.

Well apart from Luka, there's the problem (it seems with GDS). I don't think Levy and Redknapp are getting on very well. The fact that Pienaar seems to have been injured more than fit since he dsigned, and it's getting 50/50 with VDV too now, can't be helping morale. Losing Sandro was a masive blow, and Hudd continues to have injury problems. Lennon, Rose and Walker are also injured I believe ATM, beside the usual problems with King and Gallas, add in woodgate's miracle 'recovery' since he went to Stoke, the unsatisfactory situation over the OS and NDP, plenty of problems I reckon, don't you?

It's not all doom and gloom of course, and it wouldn't amaze me if we got 5th or 6th, but 7th feels right to me ATM.

King, there is always the "glass half full" people, and the "glass half empty" people. Unfortunately, there also seems to be a small minority to whom the glass is not only half empty, but also has a ****ing great big hole in the bottom, as well.

Fair enough KH, let's start again, I don't want to fall out with someone on my first day. I just called your comments ridiculous, because you were having a go at my opinions, I tend to be like that :)

If people debate without name calling and irritating emoticons, I much prefer to do it that way. If people want to take a pop, I tend to take a pop back. I much prefer the pleasant debate alternative :)

It won't amaze me if we get 6th or 5th, but I'm not impressed with what's gone on since the January window. It may be that, for example, Luka will play brilliantly henceforth, but I'm not convinced . I have many doubts as I've posted elsewhere in this thread.

Tell you what, why don't you read my posts instead of asking needless questions. I've answered you at length already, I'm not a speed typist, and do have other things to do you know.

IMO and IMHO are well known abbreviations on tinterweb, the H stands for humble. I really wouldn't read too much in the difference, I tend to post a lot when I'm on, and so may not be entirely consistent in my acronyms.

    Cheers KH <ok>

Naturally, I hope yours is the correct prediction. Of course 4th is possible, but I just think we're in a state of some disarray ATM. We'll know so much more after the Wolves game. As that will be our first game 'post-window', I may well revise my prediction after ADe and Scotty have powered us to victory :)

The main thing for me is that we won't have half a season of being dragged through the high court with the threat of admin looming over us, having to put up with Hodgsons dire football, giving awful players like Poulsen and Konchesky starts while staring at the relegation zone with disinterested players like Torres in the team.

We improved noticeably second half of last season once those issues were resolved.

Signings aside, we now have a full season ahead of us with a strengthened team, a great manager in Kenny who will motivate every player, new stable ownership, and also players that Kenny will have made sure want to be there. There are no off the field worries to distract us anymore which, more then the squad strengthening, makes me hopeful we'll get a top 4 position. Poor starts by Arsenal and, to a lesser extent, Spurs have helped too.

You've had a reasonable start, whilst we, and Arsenal, haven't. It just gets a bit irritating when some know-it-alls come on here proclaiming the herald of a new dawn, and that, of course, after 2-3 games, they can see that whole order of things has changed. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Things can change very quickly in a short space of time - as we saw at the end of last season.

1st decent comment with good reasons on why Liverpool could finish 4th ahead of Arsenal and Spurs this season.

To read some of these posts you would think that all hope is gone and relegation is loomimg. Those of you who have supported Spurs for more than four years know that we have good times and we have bad times. Fot the last four years we have had far more good times than bad ones. I believe that we will have even more good times from now. Stop moaning and get supporting our team. I predict third or fourth place this year and definitely above woolwich
