I too am being honest I voted to leave the EU for what I thought (and still do ) is in the best long term interests of the U.K. Not France or Germany but the UK.
For purely selfish reasons I could say we should stay in the UK the number of years I have left on this earth it means FA to me, but the expansion of the EU is not IMO good for my grand and great grand children.
Do the people really want a European Empire with its own army controlled by those who brought us to 2 world wars, and paid for by the British people.

Thats such a poor and winded excuse, its like saying to two Boxers one of whom has won the fight on points, "Yes you won but you never said how you would win".

Except it's not like that at all.

There's many ways to leave the EU as May's plans show - they come with varying degrees of gaining sovereignty/control but also with varying degrees of economic cost. There is a mandate to leave but not how we leave. Many people who voted to leave are prepared to put up with any economic cost and that's fine but many who vote to leave did not vote to get poorer and will not accept that.

To be honest I doubt anyone who managed to fail so spectacularly in the election as she did lacks the skill to manage that.

But I'm pretty sure LL will have a youtube video that proves me wrong and shows that actually Theresa May planned this all along (well not actually her but her Imam).

Most of the people who voted to leave didn't want to pay any costs, why should we?, we gave two years notice but we find that all agreements signed by Labour and Conservative governments whilst we were members of the EU carry on forever more and not while we were members, so basically they signed the UK up to the EU forever more, they should be tried for treason and shot, leave now with no deal, paying nothing and if they get stroppy about it declare war on Europe, see if they've got the minerals to have it with us.

I don't mean the economic costs in terms of what we pay to the EU. I mean the cost on the economy if we don't pay and then don't have the current access to those markets. We can walk away and pay nothing but it will cost the economy a big hit. As I say some people are happy for that to happen but some people who voted to leave would not be,

The ordinary man on the street won't notice much, the greedy politicians and big hitters will lose a few quid until it blows over, the rest of Europe will lose out too, so a deal would soon be sorted on our terms soon enough.

The reverse on all counts. The ordinary man and lowest paid will be biggest hit both in terms of wage and with less money spent on public services. Greedy whoever and biggest hitters will move money overseas and ability to move business overseas (and already have) will speculate on disaster capitalism and are very keen to leave before the EU laws hit in 2019 to try and avoid overseas tax evasion.

The EU would be hit but not to the extent we would be as it's a bigger part of our economy as their hit is shared among 27 nations. A deal was never going to be sorted on out terms this a fantasy that Davis floated (we'll go straight to Germany and negotiate - didn't happen the EU stood together because it's in their interests for the EU to stick together) and when reality kicked in with Davis he walked away
