Trainspotting is a good film but it's one very much of its time. It encapsulates the 90s (even though the book is set in the 80s IIRC) but it's very much in the Britpop, post-rave, Blairite infused Great Britain.

Funny, though. ER wont like it because he's a ****y Nigel who doesn't understand Rabelaisian type humour.

Trainspotting 2 was ok but it should have been a follow up like the book 'porno'.

I know Irvine Welsh and he's actually quite tall. He did tell me he based the main character in Marabou Stork Nightmares on you though.

I thought Filth was a much better film. The Acid house is another that is very good.
