    It does depend though. When I got my puppy earlier this year I didn't want his tail docked and spoke to the breeder about it (she said it is up to the owner). She said it isn't just a vanity thing and said that with medium to large dogs the tail can actually do some damage in a house. My boy has already knocked over glasses that have been on a table with his tail and when he gets excited and the tail is going nuts you can see how it could **** stuff up.

    The breeder also said that some undocked tails go dead in later life due to banging against things and can end up being chopped later on anyway as they are just hanging there. I still haven't had mine docked, but it was interesting hearing the other side to the argument as I assumed it was just because some people thought they looked better. Same with ear clipping like the Doberman above, **** that.

    Sounds like a few porkies in that to me (or at least some 'embellishment') - logical conclusion would be that ALL dogs should have their tails docked in case they bang them and get "dead tail" in later life <doh>

    Well no, as small dogs tails aren't going to be smashing against stuff unless their legs/body are as well as the tail isn't that long. I'd guess my dogs tail is about a foot and a half, maybe more, so much more scope for the end of it to be hitting into stuff when at home and in a corridor or living room.

    She didn't say it happened to all dogs, but said it can happen. Much like I suppose a tail getting caught in something and having to be removed.

    I think that's the correct term, it's basically how they get the ears to stand up like the Doberman in the picture. They are naturally floppy

    The lab's tail is a weapon. He can smash through concrete with it when he's excited.

    We've got a dog, a Tibetan Terrier. Second one we've had, really nice little chap and I'm very attached to him now.

    Not gonna lie though, in general I can take or leave them. I don't need a dog about at all. The in laws have two as well and they are round ours all the time, when all three are in the house it does my ****ing head in as they just never, ever, stop moving. They just circle the house wanting attention, I wish they'd just chill the **** out.

    On the **** thing, she brings bags of **** home with here after walking the dog. As do her parents, for some reason. Why they cant find a bin or take it to their own house is beyond me but it just ends up outside our front door or in our back garden. Comes down to me to dump the bags in the bin. I also clean the **** off the back lawn from all three dogs. Nice convenient toilet for other peoples dogs that!!

    Biodegradable bags though, I didn't think you could actually buy anything else now?

    Note to cat owners;

    I know the ****s expect nothing from you. That's because they are off eating the neighborhood birds and ****ting in gardens. You think when they are out all day they hold it in and then just **** in your litter tray? Seriously?

    Do they ****, they cause as much mess as dogs do and it tends to be in other people's garden, not your own.

    Clive James' suggestion that the dog warden could follow you home and take a swift retaliatory crap on your living room carpet has some merit....
