Football wise, pretty quiet for a while. (I don't class Ashley embarrassing himself as football. :p)

Just watched "The Bourne Ultimatum" AGAIN, V+ed it whilst out last night.
I have to say it is now my favourite action film of all time.
The other Bourne films run it pretty close too.

I was trying to think which other films would have been my previous favourite.

    "The Italian Job"

    "Zulu"

    "Enter the Dragon"

    "Predator"

The thing with the Bourne films is they are so well written and acted, plus the action sequences are some of the best I have seen.

    Anyone top it?

Always thought Schwarzenegger's True Lies (uncut version) had everything an action film should have bit dated now but still enjoyable

I have never been able to get into films, well thats not true, never been into action films. More a Notting Hill type, Four Weddings and that sort of thing. A gentle relaxing watch, nothing heavy with humour.

The 1st Matrix (I now its probably more sci fi but it is action as well) I do have all the Bournes on Blu-Ray, just havnt watched them yet (I have seen them all just not the Blu-Ray versions).

I am the type of person who will watch a film, then cant watch it again for about 5 years, got no idea how people can watch the same fim over and over again.

    a few others though

    Salt is excellent
    The Tourist
    Inception

Gotta agree about Shooter great film.
I love reading the books too.

    Same as Bourne.
Read the books before the films as well.
The Bourne ones go way off the books, but are still good films.

Aliens pure classic film, but anything with a bit of comedy and people getting hurt is always welcome. Shoot em up, American psycho, Grosse point blank, Point break, Smokin Aces, stuff like that.

The Matrix films didn't do anything for me.
Two of my favourite genre's Sci Fi and Action, it should have been up there.
Yet for most of the Matrix's I felt meh!
Especially when they would have long meaningful conversations, and I would be sitting thinking who gives a toss? :p

I love war movies especially the Vietnam war, so for me it's Platoon followed by full metal jacket.....

Then horror movies, Texas chainsaw massacre and the hill have eyes set......(only the re-makes as the originals are ****e)

But recently the only movie i can watch a few times is Rock'n' Rolla.........

American psycho, I read the book before i seen the film, the book is one of the worse books i have ever read (in a good way), and i read a lot, its not really what happens in it, its more the way its wrote, at one point it felt like i was him, and i had to put the thing down for 3 months, I have never had to do that with any book ever, it was scary ****.

I enjoyed Kick Ass as well, but its not for everyone.

Smokin' Aces - high deathtoll, hugely entertaining, way over the top
Shoot 'Em Up - Clive Owen doing what he does best, stylishly
From Paris With Love - John Travolta blowing stuff up with a bald head and goatee
The Hurt Locker - tense, modern-day war film. Deserved the Oscars
Machete - comic-book like in its style and dialogue, over the top and a blast to watch

That's what I've watched recently. All good popcorn flicks.

Best war film for me was "Cross of Iron", James Coburns best film IMHO.

So well done you ended up having sympathy for both the Russians and the Germans.
