When the backs against the wall it will be interesting to see what actually happens - I can see the Conservative remainers bottling it like they have done or just about every vote to date but could imagine the ERG as more likely to rebel depending on whether they see it as an opportunity to replace May with someone like Davis as opposed to bringing the government down and risk losing their Brexit entirely
If I was May I would tell my party ‘back me or I’ll call a general election’ But then, if I had been Cameron I would have told the Euro Sceptics to f-off and join Farage’s UKIP if they don’t want to be part of an EU party. Ifs buts and maybes seem to be all there is right now and we can expect a wishy-washy half-arsed compromise which will piss everyone off - Brexiteers and Remainers alike.
She can't just do that. Not possible any more since the Fixed Term Parliaments Bill. A General Election outside the statutory 5 year parliamentary term is only possible if it fulfills one of two strict criteria, neither of which includes the Prime Minister's desire just to do it. I wont elaborate because I don't get involved in politics nor religion.....

Correct 2P. Either a simple majority in an open vote in a "vote of no confidence" or if 2/3rds of all MPs (regardless if they vote or not) are in agreement.
So now the fun begins... Between now and the week of the 10 December we get to find out whether a bad deal is better than a no deal. Has she kicked the can as far down the road as she can or will she escape one more time and we'll begin the fudge of 'leaving' the EU but actually continuing to pay, staying in a customs union and having little to no say over the rules whilst we begin the 10 year transition period.

What is even more interesting is how long the Tory party remains in office when the details are known. This is a godsend for the Labour Party heaven forbid. But the Tory's will only have themselves to blame, and boy oh boy do I know a lot of people who will vent their anger at the ballot box.
