Barely anything to ref in yesterdays Manchester derby. Man U were so timid, Mourinho complains about Citeh having 'Friendly' games prior to yesterday, yet that was about as friendly as they come. Never seen a Man U team with so little fight. Mourinho has knocked all the fight out of them cause he likes spineless cowards that don't argue with him.
Premier League clubs will have to chop number of foreign stars with new Brexit rules meaning HALF of squads must be homegrown Premier League rules state clubs can have 17 overseas players in their squad New Brexit deal would see that cut to 12 - currently 13 top-flight sides have more The FA would offer 'governing body endorsements' for work permit applications Hope is to increase homegrown talent without stopping top foreign stars cominghttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ean-HALF-Premier-League-squads-homegrown.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ean-HALF-Premier-League-squads-homegrown.html
I'm baffled how Brexit deal can have an impact on foreign football players. Shouldn't that be the football governing bodies who decide that? If fa etc can be over ruled how come a lot of players have never been charged with assault as it happened on a football pitch.
If Brexit is going to affect us, I believe it's going to affect city, united and Chelsea more than us.
I don’t quite get what they say. It says they are cutting the home grown rule to 12 instead of 17... well that has nothing to do with brexit. Brexit may mean more people will need a visa in same way non eu players currently do so those Europeans who aren’t established internationals may not come across but it seems they’ve taken 2 things that aren’t linked and managed to link them together
The home office determine work permit rules The FA may set any rules it likes then regarding home grown player quota... DEPENDING on what is signed up to with europe on free movement of people.
All I am seeing is the FA being the FA. By that I mean they have come up with a half baked idea where they will offer to give a blanket visa endorsement to all players on a contract with prem clubs if the clubs sign up to change the rules so more little white English players of the right ethnic type can play. (did i say that out loud?) My view is the clubs will just reject it as there won't be enough clubs who will agree to 13 home grown players in 25. They would have to go rob africa blind and get into child trafficking to get that to work. And we all know the same racists wouldn't like that either. When dortmund are all over the city and chelsea academy (as are we) to poach young talent.... it seems to me that something has to be done to force these clubs to actually play some kids. How ampadu and hudson oilo have not been played by cheslea i don't know... even in league cup! Same for city. they rarely even give their pair a sniff.
It is purely an attempt to increase the number of English qualified players who actually play in the PL. The hope is that this will improve the national team but i cannot see the PL agreeing at least not in the short term.
Not really IMO. Just my opinion but the rules give an out that the don't need to be english currently. just home grown form academy which is completely different.
i know current rules but by restricting freedom of movement the number of EU youngsters in PL acadamies will almost certainly fall imo
Yet we see lots of scholarships. the clubs will find a way round it. as I said if the FA offer a blanket visa system then these clubs will go rob every african and south american league they can for talent. Its really down to a mix of home office rules for work permits and then FA rules. Nowhere in this is there a mention of the UEFA rules which really matter which are still at 8 homegrown. The reality is however this is a european wide issue not a british issue. the top top clubs are 30-40% domestic players max. Some clubs (smaller) do better but not many If england wants to knock itself back work away. no real issue with it personally. Example LFC need 12. TAA clyne Gomez Robertson Henderson oxlade milner Second gk (kelleher probably, will get paid plenty just to bench warm to stay) Sturridge solanke (who won't make it) lallana (i'm at 11 already) It inflates the value of the following players then: Wilson Jones Lewis duncan brewster Clearly Clyne, lallana are finihsed. Sturrdige just about. Solanke isn't up to it and milner won't be too long. All this says is LFC ought to be looking now to pick up 3 or 4 british replacements. especially for clyne and sturridge.
