Bullshit, I saw every match and we were the best team in the tournament. We were even better in 1970 until Ramsey made the biggest gaffe of his career subbing Bobby Charlton...
Bullshit again, he's very good but nowhere near the greatest. You could fit your knowledge of football on a postage stamp and still have room for the Queen's head...
Eze gets England U20 v Germany call https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/eze-gets-england-u20-v-germany-call/
He was stating the obvious, no doubt the stuffed shirts of the FA will haul him over the coals. Tells you all you need to know about how the game is run...
Apparently Hughes is complaining about some decision or other that affected the outcome in his lofty opinion.... Also Atkinson missed bamba taking his shirt off when celebrating his late goal and had to ask bamba if he took his shirt off...he replied no so didn't get booked....Another rubbish ref...
Just watching Palarse v Spuds and Lloris is a giving his back line nightmares flapping and piss-poor kicking, I think he'll be on his way before too long...
They're having a bit of a rough time of it this season...... Luckily for them, there's no relegation from that league!
In January 2015 they were congratulated in the Scottish Parliament for winning four Highland League matches in a row for the first time in their history. It's fair to say it's been downhill ever since...
Opinions Sooper Different game then and West Germany and Portugal looks better sides st the time imo We were the hosts of course and won the trophy that is fact The culture from 66 still runs strong today and was where the seed of delusion grew from about English football started I do not agree that we were the best side either in 1970 as Brazil Italy and again West Germany looked far stronger imo Rooney totally deserves his England game imo as statistically in the game which is by far more intense and far more highly skilled he has the record to prove my points I sincerely do not believe some of the 66 World Cup squad would even feature in today’s football Still it’s a fact that we won the WC in 66 and it’s respected of course but looking back on our matches there is no doubt we were very lucky to win that tournament at that time. I repeat again that what has happened since then has been proven in the majority of competitions is that England fans have completely fooled themselves into believing we are the best Only now do I find that England has a real chance to do well and I am hoping they do so once and for all the crap of 66 can be forgotten
I didn't say we were the best in 1970, I said we were better than our 66 side but Brazil were irresistable. We were comfortable against Germany but taking Charlton off let them off the hook. That was the start of our decline and ended with Ramsey's sacking after we failed to qualify in 74. Great players are measured by their success on the biggest stages and certainly Charlton, Moore and Banks would rank above any since due to their many years at the top level...
If you have BT Sport 2 there's the Boca Juniors v River Plate Copa Libertadores Final on, it's the equivalent of a 2 legged Champions League Final between Celtic and Rangers only these lot really hate each other...
