gone with Steel Native in the 3 20 ffos las , won the race last year , bottom weight again, conditions fine., stable goes under the radar , but dai rees had a well supported winner at warwick yesterday , this will have been the plan for a while 7/2
The yard fancy GREGARIOUS to run a big race tomorrow. How do I know? Barney will just have to trust me! Also, surely tomorrow at Sandown we all have one or two we love in the veterans chase. The race is named after Pete The Feat so wouldnt it be fantastic if he could win it!
I do like a scorpion gelding and peddler catches my eye in the Sandown bumper. In the veteran, i might have a bit of mendip express. A bit of a mud lark in his day.
Very much caught my eye on pedigree. The dam was speedy enough to win a bumper and her offspring Arbeo and Minella Friend both won first time up in bumpers. Of her others, Boy Of Boru ran second first time up and daughter Holdurwhist is the dam of Ordo Ab Chao who won his bumper on debut. The Bradstocks are more famous for their chasers but are not complete mugs in this discipline either. They picked this one up for EU29,000 at Goffs last year and it could be a cheap purchase.
Lest we forget, today is armistice day. So let’s remember the fallen. I must say the sun gave a great tribute to the millions of horses lost in the Great War. So with that in mind, world war catches the eye for Martin keighley. Nicely bred it’s best performances on the flat had heavy in the going in the maiden hurdle at frost las. Cheers.
ffos las,12 55: a open race to kick off things, but BILLY HICKS mustz have a good chance here.was beaten out of sight last time out,but was his first run of the season, and hes 2 lbr lbelow his last winning mark today..
ffos las,1 25: good boy bobby was impressive at carlisle last time out,and he deserves respect, but im always a bit cautious with penalised horses in novices,so i think,REMASTERED looks a worhty bet against him today.he beat a very useful rival last trime out,and if jumping well on his hurdles debut, should run a big race, especially,as he goes on this ground too.. navan,1 35: LISMULLEN HURDLE an intereresting clash of some high class horse of present and past, but i think,IDENTITY THIEF really deserves to go in again,as he hadnt had much luck in his career so far.not underrrated today..
oh,that looked very nasty.hope, hes ok,but it didnt look good.. ffos las.2 00: i am not sure,if this is as clear cut,as the market suggests.kilbricken storm is classy, true, but there are some serious opponents in this,so it wont be a walk in the park for him.MULCAHYS HILL,f.e.,was a very good novice hurdler, and his second in the challow last season rates very high with the best form available here.so,if his jumping comes up to scratch today, should go well..
sad news,yes..i always had the feel,he couldnt often show, how good he is..there was surely a lot more to come.. navan,2 40: some interesting ex-hurdlers on show here, not least the classy CAMPEADOR.he is,of course,a bit risky, regarding his jumping, but has enough class to be a better chaser than a hurdler.so,if all goes well today, can take this en route to better things..
Absolutely gutted for the Lacey horse there at Sandown. Jumped like a stag all the way round and gets mugged by the Elegant Escape in the last 50 yards.
What a tremendous race that Intermediate Chase was at Sandown, you really have to feel for Thomas Patrick though.
Lacey reckons his target is the Hennessy so maybe the runner up birth today may mean he doesn't go up quite as much in the handicap. I'm not for a minute suggesting that was the plan though!
Terrefort was disappointing in the jumping department. I noticed his tail was protruding at very unnatural angle throughout. I know fook all about horse anatomy but I'm sure Francombe used to say it indicated all was not well with the horse. Maybe it just means they need a good dump .
I think something will come to light Chan - he looked awkward at several fences and was never really going. Bad weekend for Munir & Souede with Footpad's defeat yesterday (I'm sure he'll be back though - overreached they said)
ffos las,3 05: one horse, that will really relish these conditions is old-timer KAKI DE LA PREE.hes a real mud-lover,and not badly treated at all.
