A New missal is being introduced in Catholic Churches across Ireland next week and throughout the rest of the english speaking world on the first sunday in Advent.

It is the first change since 1975, so it is going to take a bit of getting used to.

The Liturgy Of The Eucharist is obviously staying the same.

What's a missal? I'm only in chapel when I have to be. I'm going to hell.

all the prayers and responses and all that jazz.
There will still be readings and the gospel but the responses to prayers are going to be a bit different.

If you are a Hindu and you have never attended a Catholic church in your life, do you go to hell?

I am betting that the great and good god who I was taught to believe in would not send good people like myself and all thos peaceful Hindus to hell for not attending church. If he did, he'd be a bit of a **** <ok>

Forgive me for being throughly underwhelmed by this news. My recent attendance at mass would negate this having any sort of impact on my sundays

I'd never criticise anyone for not giving a ****. It just interests me is all. It is the first time it has happened in my lifetime and it'll be interesting to see if it makes any difference to folk. i know my old man is like Pavlov's dog at mass.

Respect to your opinion - you are entitled to your thoughts. Whilst my opinion may be opposite to yours, I do not think that anyone is forced to engage in religion these days - to do so would be wrong in my opinion.
Perhaps a very important thing to remeber is that we should ' Love thy neighbour .' IF people truly lived their lives by this principle there would be no wars and peace would prevail. Any war in the name of religion is a contradiction in terms! ---- Of course please feel free to respond in the tradition of GC. I won't take it personally - because MY offerings on GC are not intended to be so.

Yep. But those people are cock..suckers, and not genuine...... Most wars aren't caused by religion, but mainly for Resources.

    This

I found it was a bit strange with the missal changing, all the regular people who belt it out on a sunday were a lot more quiet, there were a few words in the creed which imo were just made up!

Why have they changed it though? What's the thinking behind changing something so well established?
