Yeah, he's been very disappointing. Hasn't got the measure of Bellew fighting off the back foot. I wouldn't like to be in his position, chasing the fight against a home fighter.
Usyk landing a lot of good body shots in that one, though they were basically the same punch, over and over. Bellew needs to do something to surprise him and knock him out of his rhythm.
Bellew down and out. Usyk turned it on, landed a bunch of big lefts and blew him out. Far better performance than anyone expected from the Scouser, but it wasn't enough. Decent fight.
Paulie Malignaggi calling the fight perfectly. Powderpuff puncher, but he really understands the sport. What next for Usyk? Heavyweight division's unusually stacked and Bellew showed a few chinks in the armour.
Bellew is ****ed, should stop interviewing him. Repeated the same **** about the fight 10 times. Then saying he didn't see the punch and couldn't remember what round it was when he got banged. Definitely concussed at least
And again a few seconds after he'd been told (which he acknowledge too) Definitely interviewed in too soon and for too long.
I have no idea how the judges had that scored as they did. One had Bellew 3 up, another Bellew 1 up and the 3rd had it even. I thought Bellew won 2nd and 3rd round and Usyk won 5 6 7 and the first and 4th even. I thought it would go the distance with Usyk winning on points with Bellew starting quickly. I think it was actually pretty easy for Usyk in the end. Bellew did well at the start but I don't think it ever really bothered Usyk
I think that it was a hard fight to score and I'm not surprised that the judges all had different scores. It would've been very risky to go to points for either fighter. Usyk grew into it and definitely started to take over, but the turning point was probably the punch at the death in the 6th. Bellew got sloppy and it rattled him. He wasn't the same after that and a series of body shots really seemed to take it out of him.
