I have no problem with charlie sounding offf like that. As long as he pulls on a saints shirt he will get my full support same as all the players

 

I've always been a fan of Austin but it's been no secret that he's never really looked after himself and I think it has caught up with him big time now and he simply can't play regularly at this level now.

His sort of striker is a bit of a dying breed anyway but if you are that type then you at least need to be mobile and Charlie sadly has the mobility of a car park.

 

Anyway, we didn't lose today and we scored a goal. Think I'll have a bit of motd this week

 

Not definite for me yet, I need to try to get the night before off work unless I can get someone else to drive but I'll let you know.

I was right in line & thought that was the only reason not to give. Trouble is, a lot of refs do guess every week - IMO, before I get slaughtered by our pro ref posters.

She was part of the board that sanctioned it, so she would've had some input.

Absolutely diabolical refeering for both us & Watford watching that back. Simply shocking.

 

Yeah, seeing the replays, I'm actually quite relaxed. The referee does done us a favour to be honest. It was clear that we fell apart after conceding when we did, and were thankful for the final whistle, so I'd have really feared for us if instead we'd conceded 20 minutes earlier (from the penalty spot) and gone down to ten men at the same time. If that happens, we probably lose the game and Charlie probably never gets the chance to tuck it away.

 

He would have had an assist today if the goal had been given.

OK but today was a real effort by a team that despite there limited abilities put in a good shift.

 

He didn't give the penalty, so what? That decision had come and gone. It doesn't mean because it should've been a penalty everything turned out ok in the end. Each decision has to be made on it's own merits and we lost out to an incompetent referee. Would they have put that referee up for the Manc derby? Of course not, much better to try him out in one of the unimportant matches, see how he get's on.

 

Agreed. I'm only angry because the referee was abysmal all game. I've never seen such an incompetent display over that length of time. There's been some real bad decisions by other refs in the past but at least they looked in control. This ref looked so far out of his depth.

Didn’t realise it was now another international break! **** me how many do we have these days, seems way more than it used to be .

 

It's getting stupid. We've got the farce of Rooney coming back for one game to give his ego a boost. Ridiculous that he's allowed to do this.
