I know he’s changed hands Stick so sorry mate and not the same as if he was still in your hands but am so pleased for the horse!!!
Old barney will be creaming in his Jim jams tonight after verdana blue and squire do the business. His nanny might have to put a drop of brandy in his Horlick tonight to settle him. Good night all we’ll sleep well tonight.
Bravo the Squire. Just watched the highlights of the England, All Blacks match. Thrilling close match. Lawes rightly called for offside right at the death to chalk off a winning try for England. But crikey fine margins as he was behind the line right up to a split second before the ball went back.
He will always be my boy Woolly. I have been saying for a year that "he" needed a change and we did the right thing letting him go. Remember though that he was running off a career low mark tonight, the race has been run to suit and it fell into his lap. We have had Luke on him a few times and he gets on well with him. I think the change of scenery will have freshened him up nicely and he will probably go in again. I was confident today and had a fair chunk on him. Mostly what I feel is delighted for him as I am sure you are aware that I love him to bits!
To say the winning distance was less than a length, he fairly hacked up. He will win again, is he entered up again this week I wonder?
So pleased for Squire. New owners got him for £2,500 then. They must be pleased and I know you are stick. Glad he won you some money even though he has gone
Had to come on and say well done Stick, delighted to see Squire with his head in front this evening. As an opinion I am not even sure the change needed to have a definite effect, although it could well have helped. I think Squire has never ran in a race as winnable, as most of those behind were moderate and have never and will likely never run in the races he has, and so he was the class horse in that field. I am not actually sure he ran to a better mark in my book than he did at Chelmsford earlier in the year or Kempton a few runs back but the competition were poorer. I think he will go up 3lb and so still hopefully be able to go in again if a similar opening can be found. I didn't back him as I have done a couple of times this season as I just wondered if he had fallen out of love with it all, delighted for you and his new owners however as I know he was much loved. I hope The Fifes will rehome him fittingly once his career does come to an end.
