The sun exclusive this morning on Beckham to QPR is probably as far fetched as there exclusive last season saying that the we will be docked 15pts and not be promoted.
Mmm....I thought this story may bring out some Becks haters!! I've never understood why people knock him. He is, without a doubt, one of the best players England have produced in the last 20 years. He oozes class and technical ability and has a fantastic attitude and work ethic. I doubt for one minute that this will come off, but I for one would welcome him here.
i would defo take beckham, seeing him in a man u testimonial game in pre season and he isnt bad at all, some man u fans said tehy'd welcome him, he'd also put the club on the map and make a ton in shirt sales
They love him in Asia.. We'd have a whole wave of new fans! Tony connecting with his Malaysian roots?
Definitely not a Becks hater here - even though he is ageing, still has class. I went to see him in a friendly for AC Milan vs Hamburg in 2009 when they first got him. He played for the first half and was best on the pitch. Agree with others that it probably will never happen BUT why not continue to dream - I haven't stopped grinning since the transfer window shut. As an aside, Harry Kewell coming to Melbourne has sparked serious interest in VICTORY and they've cut him a deal based on an increase in profit he could make for the club. He gets paid on making a difference. Just a thought Tony... Bring on the TOON - can't wait
I think there could be so much to gain from having a player like Beckham at little old QPR, he is the ultimate professional and he would want the involvement. It's probably highly unlikely but if Tony and Amit can sell him our dream...
Come on guys, this story came from the Sun, I wouldnt believe that night followed day any more if that piece of crap had it on its front page.
I suspect Beckham could still contribute much on the pitch... but you have to look beyond that. If he did come (still think it's unlikely) Queen's Park Rangers would become a household name around the world almost overnight, such is the player's pull. Fernandes does seem to be a master at branding and the Asian market which he knows and understands well is vast...
I agree wholeheartedly. The man is the consummate professional. The amount of hate and bile hes had to put up with over the years without reaction is admirable. That said, I wonder does he still have it on the field of play. The MLS is a retirement home.
Are you kidding me? Beckham to QPR? Yes please. Even if it's just to be in and around the dressing room. What a guy to have at the club. We've become very fussy since we got a bit of $, haven't we? I'd imagine Beckham would bring enough interest and merchandising to offset costs. Having him spend 3 or 4 months with Tarabt, Traore, Hewitt, etc would be priceless.
