Don't think they would ever consider selling until the new training ground and Anfield Road end is built and paid off. By then the club will be ridiculously valued.

    Dunno about Anfield road end.

but extracting the 150 houses out of the melwood development would probably be their plan.

anyway just.my opinion but the club is way over valued now.

you could.buy Newcastle for 150 or 200 and spend 200 mil on players for rafa and not be far off.

seriously... you could... Ashley is such a fool

I'm I late (can't be arsed reading back)

“Southampton, all these games, then Cardiff, who are a difficult team to play against. If another team scores two goals in the last few minutes then you only see the result.

What do they say? No smoke without fire.

I can’t see why it’s is not a possibility. The club is valued at £2 billion. This is not peanuts and however much the owners love the club who can resist profits of hundreds of millions ( anyone remember how much they paid ?).

Unsubstantiated rumours maybe and may it’ll come to nothing. But it wouldn’t surprise me if there were talks behind the scenes. Lots of very rich billionaires and corporations (Chinese, Russians Middle Eastern and others) looking for a prestigious toy AND good return for their fortunes.

I think fsg are milking us in a different way to how the glaziers milk Utd.

Fsg were a small regional player and they now have a global market to play in and not just lfc, the red sox too. They are not a family they are a consortium of businessmen.

The glaziers take a big lump sum right out of Utd coffers every year and Utd paid off the loans used to buy Utd. So they in effect had Utd for free plus a yearly bonus.

Fsg have been investing into lfc via loans to turn a loss making basket case around. They want to see all that paid back before they sell up.

i was about to post similar mito lol.

fsg are using us as we have world wide appeal, and despite what many yanks think, the world doesn't evolve around them and most dont give a **** for baseball, but they do football.

    its all £££$$$

they probably are testing the waters on the qt though. i thought they paid about £250 mill but seen figures of £400 mill so **** knows lol.

2b sale. They would make 1.5b, take out costs etc.

Or stay in and see if football continues to be a cash cow.

Goes without saying that they’ll want to get all their investments back and the capital gains too. They are too much of being hard nosed businessmen to do otherwise.

A club like LFC is like a no lose investment. The global support is guaranteed no matter what. So is the weekly crowd. Our history and unfailing global following keeps the broadcasting rights and sponsorship deals increasing in value. If I had a few billions looking for a home I would definitely be looking to buy a club like LFC.

The glazers grabbing the mancs is a classic example of how to grab an asset with other peoples money (bank and club) yet with no financial risk to yourself. If things had gone belly up it would been the club (and banks) who would have suffered.

This is where Ashley has come up a cropper. He thought he has bought a high profile club, with massive crowds and therefore a cash cow. But there is a huge difference. Sponsorships and broadcasting rights are dependent on global following. If they are in the doldrums and get relegated, no one in other countries want to follow them and their matches are not picked up by foreign stations. Their overall value decreases and Ashley puts less money and its like a vicious circle.

Whereas top clubs like LFC and the mancs, it doesn’t matter whether they are top 4 or in mid table or even relegation zone. Their following is solid and their matches are followed avidly all over the world.

Ashley wanted to sell for 100mil in championship.

he's half heartedly.managed it and made so many stupid calls it's ridiculous.

if you look at what can be done it's crazy nobody with brains has taken Newcastle off him.

I would buy it in championship at this point. get it for 100mil and drive it

I hate that phrase - there are plenty of unsubstantiated rumours around.
And the article says $2b btw, which is considerably less than £2b.

which probably proves he is a moron as I am not sure his online systems are strong enough to take all those brands and have them survive.

retail is dead. it's either extreme low end Primark or extreme high end experience.

considering he has turned down £300m + i somehow doubt that.
Oh and anyone who gives Rafa that sort of transfer budget is the idiot considering his dealing at Toon.

he won't sell for the sort of prices you are quoting as has already been shown. Christ he saves almost that much by using St James Park as an advertising tool for Sports Direct.
