Some of it is alright. I've got a couple of pieces of antique furniture that were my grandparent's. Nothing fancy, just a Bureau and Small round table, but they are very nicely made and would probably be worth a fair bit now.

But there is so much **** out there that is flogged off with a big ticket because it's 'retro / antique'. I used to live near Blackheath in South London which is a posh nobs area. There were a few reclamation shops round there that were trying to sell of old Victorian/Edwardian mangles for £300 or some Victorian chimney pot that some **** had turned into a bbq that they were charging £200 notes for.

    ****ing philistine.

Something special about a quality antique piece imo, the history of where it’s been and what it’s ‘seen’ is something I find fascinating. My house isn’t full of old **** btw.

I do like classic cars mind, or just old cars in general.

I don’t find anything interesting about a plate that is 300 years old.

Mentioned this earlier. The term 'classic car' has become a catch all for anything over about 25 years old now it seems. So whereas a classic car used to be an E-Type Jag or a Porsche 911, you now have shysters trying to charge £15k for ****ing Ford Granada

I’m more interested in a Sierra RS Cosworth than a Jag E-Type personally.

Love 80’s cars me. Audi Quattro, give me one of those over any modern Audi... maybe not the RS6.

Some **** would probably try and charge you £5k for that as a 'classic car' nowadays
