Assuming everyone is fit do we play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, what gets the mosst out of Bendy and Gyan not forgetting Sess.

    LARSSEN..CATTS...GARDNER..SESS
    GYAN..BENDY
    or

    LARSSEN..CATTS..GARDNER
    GYAN...BENDY...SESS

    Or AN Other

Depending on who/where we are playing i think both systems should be used.

Bit contentious, but as far as I am concerned Cattermole doesn't fit in our starting 11. Would prefer to see:

    Larsson -- Colback -- Vaughn
    Sess ---- Gyan ---- Bendtner

    OR

    Larsson - Colback - Vaughn - Sess
    ------- Gyan -- Bendtner --------

Can't figure out why Bruce has not played him yet, but realistically Vaughn is the tidiest footballer we have. Also think Meyler will have a big impact once fully fit.

Thought Gyan was crocked mate? if so it'll be Bendtner and one other or more than likely Bendtner on his own with Sess behind. Bruce is desperate for this to work and will persist with it to the very end or until it works lets hope it's the latter.

Syd - are you seriously trying to second guess a manager that went into a knockout cup game without a recognised striker in the starting 11? Lol

I have been one of Lee Cattermoles biggest fans for some time but I fear that he is a bit of an unpredictable weakness at the minute. Some of his tackling is just awful this season and far from being an asset he is more of a liability. I think with only 1 goal, 2 draws, no wins and an early cup exit, Bruce has exactly the opportunity and the excuse to change things a bit and for me, I'd drop Catts and Colback. Catts for being too rash and Colback as he needs to be slowly introduced into the season. He burst onto the scene late last year through necessity and has only played some 7 or 8 games in his EPL life and has only a season of professional football to his name in total.

We bought the likes of David Vaughan and Craig Gardener to improve a midfield that was a bit predictable and goal shy last year. Its time to play them now together. Sess to the left midfield and Larsson to his preferred right berth. With Gyan (if fit) and our new boy up front together. Attack being the best form of attack, we cannot sit back against Chelsea and hope to prevail.

    My team then:

    Mig

    O Shea, Brown, Bramble, Bardo

    Larsson, Gardener, Vaughan, Sess

    Gyan, Bendtner

Westwood, Richo, Elmo, Colback, Catts, Won, Wickham

Time for Bruce to take the shackles off the team now and play his best 11 not his favourite 11. He is on borrowed time and needs to show that his new buys have got what it takes between now and Christmas. If he sticks to his 'tried and trusted' (or failed is another way of putting it) team and formation, he will be out of work in January IMO.

Errmm. I do believe I have said what MY team would be.

Are you just trying to be purposely argumentative about every post I make, or is it just once again Syd has spoken and thats final. Should we all just bow down to your numerous ramblings and have no say? Both Aussie and Talc have also mentioned Bruce. No glib comments to make to them?

You're becoming a bit of an arse with me Syd and in this case, for absolutely no reason at all.

I'd like that team for home, (the defence practically picks itself these days) where we have to get at the opposition, should create plenty of chances for the front 2. Away from home, think we'd need a bit of steel in the midfield so I think catts may need to be in there. but fully agree Catts needs to be a bit more composed especially when tackling, as he can be a little bit rash at times.

Not a bad shot at a team Cest but, I hear Bardo and Gyan are doubts so who do we use to fill those places?
Still think it'll be 4 4 1 1 not sure why, we have Chelsea at home a game where we will in my opinion be lucky to get a point. So for me we should try with 3 CBs and 3 attackers nothing to lose and if it works who knows SBs job might be safe for another couple of weeks :emoticon-0107-sweat

Talc, dont mention Bruce. Mentioned it once and I think I got away with it? Lol

I havent heard the Bardo injury and dont know how bad the Gyan one is bt if they were injured, then the only thing we can do is this for me. 3 at the back and 2 wingbacks, with Larsson (who has plyed this role before and Richardson). Richo may benefit form an attacking wing back role rather than a LB (which he is not good at). Either way, it maybe shows the folly of selling Anton? Anyone else still think we could have gone for Hutton with Anton going out?

    Mig

    O Shea, Brown, Bramble

    Larsson, Colback, Gardener, Vaughan, Richardson

    Sessegnon

    Bendtner

Hutton, Onouha both would be good additions to the squad mate but they aren't midfielders so weren't considered. Agree Richardson could prove some of his doubters wrong played as a wing back (include myself in there) and as said Larsson has played that way so why not. Not too sure about Bramble but, who do we have left? unless Brucey puts his boots on (that's twice mate).

I must admit that the Anton sale seemed unnecessary, especially as it wasnt to make way for a big name striker or anyone really. Anton never one of the best but to be fair to the lad, he did well at the end of last season and again this season. Only he who cannot be named can answer that one though.

I'd rather have Bruce in goal to be honest, not the most agile but his gut should ensure a clean sheet.

Hopefully we will set up in a more attacking formation. (If the bloke who does the tactics grows a pair.)

Give Sess free rein whilst attacking, (If the bloke who picks the team doesn't play him up front.)
