Tbf he does have a point there. It is only November. We probably have 10 games between now and January so a lot could change. I don't think it will but it could. He does say that the money is there, but no plans to spend it at the moment. If you want to look at it with a pro Krueger hat on you could say that it is a good answer as if he comes out saying we are going to be splashing the cash then the players might give up if they think they might be getting replaced or prices could rise when we want a player as clubs think we are minted and desperate.
Okay, before everyone spirals into a major panic, I will say one thing. This sounds like an awful position for the club right now. Which may long term prove to be a good thing. Short term pain etc. *shuts up for the moment*
I’m not even panicking, more bemused at this point. It seems we have gone from the best run club in England, to complete shambles within 3 years. One word: Rudderless.
This was his exact line "We have the capability of being active but at the moment I would say we are not planning for activity in January." Which to me indicates there is money, his idea of active might be something else though.

Kreuger often waffles on but it is usually easy to understand with a bit of pruning....a bit more difficult this time which suggests he is under stress and/or finding it harder than usual to put a positive spin on it. He does say that the club is doing well as a business apart from the performance, so the present changes must have been done with the intention of remedying that. It sounds like Les isn't being replaced directly, so there will be restructuring before any decision is made....obviously you have to be clear on the job before you can approach anyone. He implies that we have lots of playing staff, so there are no plans to purchase in January...except in an emergency such as injuries, but the money is there if needed. Hughes sounds safe (for the moment)...the sacrifice has been made and no one else is being thrown under the bus at the moment. I am going to take the positive from this....the club is sound, but that leaves the problem of results...which is the hardest to rectify.
He said no plans to spend in January, but didn't say we wouldn't...or even more importantly...couldn't. He pointed out that January is a difficult time to buy and we've had mixed (mainly poor) results.
To be fair, Gao isn’t skint, but he isn’t allowed to take any of his money out of China, which he thought he could when he agreed to give Kat the £200m, so he had to get a loan to pay her. Unless that situation changes, it’s unlikely he’ll ever be in a position to invest in SFC. Selling up would be a sensible move for him, if he could recover most or all of his outlay.
